Worship the Lord

I am glad to greet every reader of our column “Daily Word for spiritual strength”! Today I would like to point out some elements of effective prayer.
  1. Worship the Lord.
God wants us to talk to Him the way we talk to our father. Jesus said in His prayer: “… blessed be Thy Name!” The word “bless” means He worshipped the God Father in reverence to Him. Worship prepares our soul to meet the God. It also involves our spirit. Just like in order to listen to a broadcast on the radio you need to tune it up first, worship helps us to turn our spirit on and tune it up on the God´s wave. Jesus taught:
«You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve» ( Мat. 4:10 ).
Every service in the church should start with worship. Worship is one kind of prayer. What does worship actually mean?When we worship God we exalt Him for his nature, adore His majesty, power and wisdom. When you worship God, you bow down before Him and adore Him. When you worship God you acknowledge how insignificant you are compared to Him. You will worship as deep as deep you know the God. Therefore, worship is directly related to knowledge about God. The more we know Him, the more we adore Him. So your poor worship proves your low level of knowledge about God. If you worship God daily at home you will easily do the same thing in the church, since it has become a part of your life in prayer. Praise is a part of worship. When you worship God you express your gratitude for His work in your life. Praise, worship and thanksgiving work together. Praise and worship the God without ceasing! Always be thankful to Him! How do we learn to worship God?*You need to focus your mind and attention on Him.
«In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings. With two he covered his face. With two he covered his feet. With two he flew. One called to another, and said, “Holy, holy, holy, is Yahweh of Hosts! The whole earth is full of his glory!” The foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of Hosts!”» ( Isaiah 6:1-5 ).
When Isaiah saw the God, he immediately worshipped Him. You can´t see somebody or something if you don´t look at that. Learn to look at the Lord. When you come before God to pray, the first thing you have to do is calm down and look at Him in your thoughts, so that you can see Him.     Every one of us has been given free choice. By our lawlessness and sins we can fill our lives and the lives of our loved ones, thus defiling the earth. But through repentance and godly living we can establish the rule of life by God’s grace, affecting not just our life but the whole world.We see that the sin of one man negatively affects not only him or her, but also others. In the same way we see that obedience and righteous living positively affects other people and the whole world.

  • How can we experience God in our life? III

    Let Him talk to your heart today. We keep on talking about how we can experience God´s presence, power and His mercy in our life. Yesterday we stated that constant fellowship with God is mandatory in order to experience these things. We quoted many verses from Scripture telling us that people who love God have obvious advantages. For such people God has prepared many pleasant surprises and all things together work for good in their lives and God Himself appears to them.«We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.» (Romans 8:28).

  • Will you become a person like Noah for your generation?

    „This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” (Genesis 6:9) 1. Noah was a just man. 2. Noah was a just and perfect man in his kin and his generation. 3. Noah walked with God. When God finds a man like that, He establishes His covenant with him.

  • Fight for the lives of your children, your family and friends!

    You know that in the history of revivals the key role was played by praying women, because God had given them the burden of prayer for the lives other people. Women know how to carry things that distress them and bear them before God. That is why prayer is one of the purposes of mothers. Mother’s prayers are so powerful! Mother’s prayer reaches the goal! Mother’s prayer brings freedom to her children! So if you are a mother, God expects unceasing prayers from you, until the necessary answer comes. Do not stop praying for your children. Children need your prayers, and other people need your prayers.

  • The chief hindrances that block God’s power from working for us

    Jesus sometimes connects sickness with sins. This is not always the true for every sickness or situation (John 9:1-3), but very often our problems are connected to some unconfessed sins in our lives.“And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee” (Matthew 9:1-8).
