Dedication precedes provision II

Good morning, dear friends!Praise God for this wonderful day that God has given us! Thank God for one more opportunity to be filled with His living Word!Yesterday we began talking about dedication being a prerequisite for provision. And we established that full dedication means that we call upon God,walk in the fear of the Lord and love God. Let’s look in more detail at the three elements of our dedication to God.To call upon God – it means to have a stable prayer life. God desires you to have consistent and stable prayer life. You have to have a place where you call upon Him.
«But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly» (Mathew, 6:6).
You can call upon God in any place, but, according to Jesus’ teaching, for our prayer life to be effective we have to have these things:
  • time – «when you pray»;
  • place – «go into your room»;
  • undivided attention on God – «shut your door».
Prayer draws us closer to God.
 «The LORD is near to all who call upon Him…»(Psalm, 145:18).
«Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinner; and purify your heart, you double-minded» (James, 4:8).
«For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him» (Romans, 10:12).
God is rich towards those who call upon Him; He does not show partiality. Your job is to call upon Him and then He will draw near to you.
«For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?»(Deuteronomy, 4:7).
«I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. The pains of death surrounded me, and the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the LORD: „O LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!” Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful. The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living» (Psalm, 116:1-9).
The joy comes when the Lord hears us. If you will cry upon the Lord, you will stop crying. God will dry up your tears and keep your feet from stumbling. Our dedication to God is something that we need.
«For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you»(Isaiah, 30:19).
God has prepared so many blessings for you; you can obtain these blessing only through the pathway of deep dedication to God. The choice is yours! Tomorrow we will talk about what it means to have the fear of the Lord or to fear God.God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

    Love is not feelings, it is self-sacrifice, but self-sacrifice – it is decision.Of course, there are feelings in love. But, if we love God, our mutual relationships with God do not consist of feelings alone.The Bible talks about people whom God calls His friends. Why were these people special? • Do not focus of what you do not have; simply go ahead and use what you have!

    Every human being is a unique work of God. Every one has been given unique abilities and talents. There isn’t one unnecessary person on this earth; there isn’t one insignificant talent or ability. Everything that God created is needed by someone and is intended as a blessing for someone. Look at yourself today in a new light and see that you are a unique personality highly gifted by God; you are a unique specimen. There isn’t another person on this earth like you! But sometimes we are distracted when we start comparing ourselves to others and envying them just because they have something we do not have. For this reason we stop appreciating the things that God has given us and sometimes it makes us passive and inert.
  • How to effectively study the Bible II

    Sometimes one word in the Bible can be followed as a thread throughout all of the pages of the Book.I once sat down to write a letter to a brother. I prayed and asked God to help me write not just words, but to make it a blessing for this person. As I was writing, I noticed that I had started preaching in the letter. Later I put it aside, because one word had totally consumed my attention. I began to study this word in the Bible. I began studying the phrases like “God is able” and „God can”. I started reading all the verses that contained these phrases. It was so interesting that I totally forgot about the letter. The study of particular Bible words can be very interesting and profitable.
  • Love is a weapon of victory of the last time!

    “At the last days” – said Jesus – “the world will be full of hatred, sin, betrayal, resentment and bitterness.” Those who are not able to walk in love will experience serious problems at the last days – faced the power of sin they will not be able to fight it, get emotional injuries shortening their lives. Such people will end up with heart attack and nervous breakdown caused by the stream of evil, hatred, betrayal, rebellion and ingratitude over-flooding the world at the last days.
  • Why do people run away from being accountable?

    1. Fear of rejection. Many people are afraid of others rejecting or despising them when they find out all the truth. Biblical accountability is fulfilment of the law of Christ which tells us to express our care for the others in the spirit of humility: «Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ» (Galatians, 6:1-2).
  • On what does your destiny depend?

    We mostly think that our destiny is determined by other people or how they act toward us. Or we think that destiny depends on the circumstances that surround us or things that happen around us. But it is not true, and God does not think that way! God knows that the circumstances in your life won’t define your life. What people do or do not do to you cannot determine your life. Your destiny is defined by where your heart is. Thus, God tells us that we have to guard our hearts with all diligence.
