The true knowledge of God only come through the One Who is ‘ in the bosom of the Father’ – from Jesus

Dear children of God, welcome to the column of our „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! Our God is alive, and He desires His children to be made alive through the truth of His Word and be prepared for every good work. Yesterday we talked about how Jesus manifested God in two main ways: through His lifestyle (character) and through His works (gifts). We also can demonstrate God through our characters and our works. We manifest Him in our flesh, when through the Spirit of God we develop the fruit of the Holy Spirit and exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The main idea of today’s message is that only the person who has learned to enter “into the bosom of the Father” is able to truly manifest God, because he knows Him:
«For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him» (John, 1:17-18).
Jesus is the only One who was in the Father’s bosom and thus was the only one who was qualified to manifest Him to people. So in order for us to be able to manifest God to others like Christ, we must be ‘in the Father’s bosom’. The word “Father’s bosom” means very close to the Father’s heart, to be by the Father’s side or on the Father’s breast. That word was used in John to describe John leaning on Jesus:
«Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved» (John, 13:23).
So Jesus was close to Father’s heart, and that is why He was able to manifest God to us. The true knowledge of God only come through the One Who is ‘ in the bosom of the Father’ – from Jesus. God calls us to do the same – to manifest God through our lives. In order to do that we need to be close to Father’s heart, to be ‘on His bosom’ . Only the one who is close to God really knows Him. I must be ‘consumed by God’. I must delight to be like God. Everything begins with the desire to know who I am and how I can manifest God in my life. In order to understand these things, I must be close to God. Jesus came to this earth, manifested God to us and did everything necessary for us to be close to Him. Jesus took away all the barriers and made it possible for us to come into ‘the Father’s bosom’ and, subsequently, manifest him to people:
«Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water» (Hebrews, 10:19-22).

  • Jesus gave us an access to the Father through His Blood. The way to God’s bosom is now open!

«For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father» (Ephesians, 2:18).

  • We have access to the Father through the Holy Spirit:

«…in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him» (Ephesians, 3:12).

  • We have access to the Father through the faith in Him.
Now we have been given a passport or a permit to be in God’s presence. We can enter God’s presence at any time with boldness and without any fear. Such a privilege is given only to the redeemed children of God, believers in Jesus Christ. Why have we been given this privilege? So that we like Jesus could manifest God to the people that have not yet been introduced to Him. In order for Jesus Who lives in us to grow and consume our lives with His nature and passion, we need to continually come into His presence. We will continue tomorrow! I wish you God’s abundant blessings! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Do not live without vision!

Today I would like to share with you a word about building or constructing your future. The truth is that we are a product of what we see. In order for us to reach any goals in life, we have to first see (visualize or imagine) them. So many people do not advance and move forward because of the lack of vision; they only live in the ‘now’. Very often people do not have any future plans; they do not have a clue of what goals they want to reach in this life.
  • Jesus as the example of a true minister

We see that Jesus experienced serious difficulties in the days of His earthly life, but He did not focus on them. Jesus was busy serving the Father and those He was sent to serve. While Jesus served people, the Father made sure people ministered to Jesus; God met Jesus’ needs through His ministry. When we serve others, God motivates others to serve us. We always reap what we have sown. We do not serve people because we do not have any problems, – we serve people because it pleases God. And when we serve, despite the fact that we have problems, needs and concerns, God makes sure some people that we do not even know serve us by meeting our needs
  • Without God I cannot, but with Him I can do all!

We can not do the works of God without God. Very often in our own strength, we try to do what God requires us to do with Him. Often we rely on ourselves and on things we already know. Often we rely on our experience. But when the prayer is our priority we understand that when relying on ourselves and doing the job without prayer, we are wasting time and energy. Without a strong prayer movement in the church, the church vision cannot be accomplished. It´s just not possible!
  • Hope of salvation II

Today Abraham´s example shows us the way of life we should live in this world. It also helps us to understand the role of hope at the battle of the last days. Nothing in this world captured him nor temptation to become rich could influence his relationships with God, because he had the hope of salvation. Having the hope of salvation makes walking in faith easy nowadays. Regardless of what you have or lack you can easily rejoice even nowadays.
  • God’s purpose for the earth and the role of people in it

It says in the Bible that God rules and reigns over everything — in heaven and in earth. When we read Genesis, we see that God created men and also we read about God’s intentions for men. God created us to rule and reign on earth as God’s ambassadors. So God’s original plan was for people to be a ruler and care-taker for God. We can read about that in Genesis (1:26-28).
  • God is more interested in your spiritual growth, development of your character than a quick answer to your prayers!

It would not be hard for God to give you what you are asking for; it is a lot harder to cause changes in you and your character. Humans tend to be so ungrateful. The people of Israel were wandering through the desert; they called out to God, He answered them, but it did not change them. Afterwards, when a different problem came they called out to God again, and He answered them and gave what they had asked for. Nevertheless, their hearts remained unchanged. God can answer your prayers again and again, but it is not a guarantee of permanent changes in your life. Quite often God allows certain situations in our lives that help us to grow spiritually.
