The level of our faith depends on our ability to hear from God

Greetings to every one of you on this new day that the Lord has given us! Today God desires to grant us His wisdom. His wisdom is able to change our lives and bring light into our darkness. Yesterday we talked about two dimensions of faith: the word of faith and the spirit of faith. The level of our faith depends on our ability to hear from God. When we hear the Lord’s voice it strengthens us and takes disorder and confusion out of our lives. When we hear the Lord’s voice it awakens in us the spirit of faith and raises us up into God’s dimension. Let’s look at some verses of Scripture that tell us about the benefits of hearing God’s voice and being led by the Spirit.
«Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads your by the way you should go. Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants also would have been like the sand, and the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; his name would not have been cut off nor destroyed from before Me.” Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, declare, proclaim this, utter it to the end of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob!” And they did not thirst when He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow from the rock for them; He also split the rock, and the waters gushed out ». Isaiah (48:17-21)
From this passage we see that when we allow God to teach and lead us we will have His provision. In the deserts the Lord leads us through we won’t experience thirst. If we walk the Lord’s way and not our ways, then God will take care of all the things that concern us. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote:
«Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they will still be praising You. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion» (Psalm, 84:4-7).
If we learn to hear from God and follow His voice, we will have great testimony of the glory of God, because God knows how to change into good those things that the enemy meant for evil.
«Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held – to subdue nations before him and loose the armour of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut: ‘I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel’». Isaiah (45:1-3)
 When we hear from God:
  • He releases His power and anointing into our lives.

  • He goes ahead of us to make the crooked places straight, break the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.
In our lives we will unavoidably face some mountains, some ‘crooked places’, even if we act in accordance to thw word and the voice of God But God will go far ahead of us to make these places straight. Do you remember what happened to Peter? Peter was led by the Holy Spirit; nevertheless he ended up in prison and chained to the wall. Howevever,God brought him out of all of that. The brass gates opened before Peter and the chains fell off, because God intervened in the situation.
«Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, „Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, „Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by he angle was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. And when Peter had come to himself, he said, „Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”»(Acts, 12:7-11).

  •        God’s provision will be obvious in the life of the person who hears God’s voice and is led by it.
Amidst of different needs and problems you will have peace and confidence, because you know that you are acting based on the Lord’s word. You might need to pray a lot and exercise your faith, but your need will be met. Fire fell on the altar and rain came according to the word of Elijah, even though he had to ask God for it seven times. But because Elijah was acting in accordance with God’s word, the answer finally came. I have been talking about this topic for so long, because I am convinced that your life will change a great deal, if you will begin seeking the Lord and ask Him to teach you to hear His voice and to be led by His Spirit. God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How Prophet Elisha accomplished his goal in life

Elijah was the spiritual father of Elisha. After Elisha closely observed the life of this man of God in his life and saw all the miracles that God performed through Elijah, he understood that the key to Elijah’s success was his love and total commitment to God. So Elisha desired and became hungry for the same anointing and lifestyle of Elijah his mentor. But more interestingly is the fact that Elisha wasn’t satisfied to do just what Elijah did; he craved for the double portion of Elijah’s his anointing.
  • How did Jesus ensure the presence of God in His life?

Why was God with Him? Was it because He was the Son of God? I don’t think so. Don’t forget that Jesus also was the Son of Man. He was born in flesh, was raised in a family, and grew physically, intellectually and spiritually.«And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men» (Luke, 2:52).
  • Without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God

Faith, – biblical faith is cooperation with God in all sense. God will not do everything for you. He will not do for you, what you are unwilling to do yourself.Don’t just fold your arm in passivity expecting God to put bread in your mouth. The proof that you have faith in God is to carry out the instruction you already know. That is the essence of praying and reading the Bible, – to discern His will and understand His mind concerning a given situation and then act on what you know God is calling you to do.
  • We have to strengthen our spirit

The Bible states «A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?» (Proverbs 18:14). Satan wants to hit our spirit via hardships, trials and problems. When your spirit is strengthened, you can overcome any kind of weakness, get through all kind of hardships and trials. So how can we strengthen our spirit? God´s word and His promises strengthen our spirit and overcome weakness and sufferings. In order to not give up, we need to learn how to lean on the word of God and His promises – fully and unconditionally. We have to learn God´s faithfulness and realise that God will never forsake us unless we abandon Him ourselves.
  • What are you doing with your talent? III

«Set your mind on things above» (Colossians, 3:2).But you cannot mentally switch and start thinking about the things above, because it is a process. It depends on your lifestyle. So Jesus tells us to invest ourselves and our treasures into the Kingdom of God, because where your treasures are, your heart will be also. If you continuously think on how you can build God’s Kingdom, – investing your finances, time, strength and effort into it, – then your heart will also be there. It is a law: your heart will be where your treasures are.
