Don’t give up!

Grace and peace to you in Name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!I welcome you to the column of our “Daily word for spiritual strength”.Today I would like to consider lessons from the life of four Bible heroes who brought a paralytic man to Jesus. In this history there are some vital lessons we can learn and some valuable principles for successful living. Here is the first lesson: It is very important not to give up when you have set a goal achieve something noble.
“ And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (Mark 2:1-5).
We can see from the above text that these people had a noble desire or goal, — to bring this weakened and paralytic person into the divine presence of God. The miracle this man needed was possible only in the presence of God. Miracle is available for all of us too only in God’s presence. When we come into the presence of God, then all our problems and leprosies disappear. However, this weakened person in our story couldn’t have come to Jesus and get into the presence of God by himself because he has been confined to bed. His four friends have decided to help him in this.As we can see in the story, despite their noble desire, there was a serious obstacle standing on their way and that will not allow them to get directly to Jesus. What was this obstacle? It was the great crowd of people that surrounded Jesus. One very interesting lesson hidden in this lesson for us is that: no obstacles could stop these people. These four heroes overcame all the barriers and came to Jesus, breaking into the presence of God. These people found a way to achieve their goal and reach their objective. The way they found wasn’t traditional one, and this way did cost them something. But they have made it and paid the price for it. They have disassembled the roof of the house where Jesus was teaching and lowered unto Jesus the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. What does God want us to see through this story?God want us to understand that it will not always be easy, when we make up our mind to pursue our goals and purpose in life. The person, who quickly gives up will never win.God’s word for you today is this: Don’t give up!May God bless you on your way to achieving your purpose in life! Please, don’t give in to obstacles, because there are ways to achieve your purpose. If you have gone one way, and nothing seems to work out for you, then try to find another way. If the second attempt failed also, try a third method. You will eventually reach your goal if you will not give up o the way.May the Lord bless you! See you tomorrow! Pastor Rufus Friday Ajiboye

One of the ways we make ourselves qualified is to learn to listen to people, listen to their hearts and feelings; only then we can really help them.Besides, we must be ready to show the problem from a different perspective. It is not satisfactory to point out person’s problem or his or her mistakes; we must be able to highlight how his or her present lifestyle or approach to life has caused the problem.Today I would like us to look at another passage of Scripture.
  • We need to constantly renew in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth

If we never stop following Jesus, He will change us making those changes more and more obvious in our lives and for the people around us.The fact that we have become believers yet doesn´t mean we have become perfect. That´s why we should not represent ourselves as such in front of other people. Surely we are not perfect. We are still undergoing improvement process. We are still under process of changes as we follow Jesus and submit ourselves to His Spirit. God changes us as we renew our mind and put aside our old man, as we deny ourselves and carry the cross. All these things have an impact on us helping us to behold the glory of the Lord.
  • God wants you to use everything He has given you for His Kingdom III

«His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’» (Mathew, 25:23).Some people get tired and need help even before they start to do something significant. But tell me! Is it possible that you need rest or take a break from God? Is it possible that you need rest from serving Him? No! We can serve God everywhere. You can be on a plane and serve people who sit by you. You can serve God on a beach, at work, everywhere; because in all of these places there are people who need God.
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord! II

«Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.» (Hebrew 11:6). As we mentioned earlier, faith means acting in accordance to the word of God. Quite often God calls us to do impossible things, those only God Himself can accomplish. God is not inviting us to demonstrate our own capabilities, but what He is able to do through us. That´s why God often gives us the tasks we cannot accomplish without Him.
  • How to set grace free in our lives? II

The law of sowing and reaping governs how favour works. It is necessary to look at favour as a seed that must be sown. Jesus said that, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7).In other words, Jesus is saying, “Blessed are those who have sown favour or mercy, because they will reap favour or mercy”.Generally, the level of favour operating in your life depends on the level of the seed of favour you sow into other people’s lives. This means that I cannot expect the harvest of favour in my life until I have not sown mercy into other people’s lives.
  • What is the highest commandment?

Once a man asked Jesus: «What is the highest commandment»? Jesus answered that the 1st commandment is to love God; the second – love you neighbour as yourself! When you are moved with compassion and love for people, you do not waste your time on your faults and failures. Your faults shouldn’t stop your ministry. Many people think that they are not ready to serve and minister. But if you have any compassion, you will go and minister to people despite our weaknesses. And we will be saving people.
