God looks at what we do with what we already know

Welcome, dear friends! Grace and peace to you from Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ!I am glad to see that you have found time to visit „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification” and feed on the wisdom that is hidden in God’s Word. God’s Word brings light into our lives. In one of his Psalms David said:
«For You will light my lamp; the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness» (Psalm, 18:28).
Allow God today to speak to your heart. We are talking about the importance of knowing and doing God’s will. Yesterday we talked about the fact that God reveals His plans and intentions to us gradually as we reach particular levels of maturity and grow in our ability to accept what He has prepared for us. We also established that God reveals His will to those who are close to Him, seek His will and are willing to do His will. God looks at what we do with what we already know, and only then He will reveal the next part of His plan for our lives. Here is what Jesus said about the importance of doing God’s revealed will:
«And that servant who knew this master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more» (Luke, 12: 47-48).
We see two categories of people here: those who know their master’s will and do not do it and those who do not know their master’s will. Both categories of people will be punished in accordance with how they treated the opportunities that presented themselves. Many people have multiple opportunities to learn God’s will for their lives, but they never use these opportunities. These people are either too lazy or too careless and light-minded. Remember, it says in the Bible that to whom much has been given, of him much will be required and who has a lot, more will be given to him. What happened to those who knew their master’s will, but «did not prepare himself or do according to his will»? Jesus said that they will “be beaten with many stripes”. So, the knowledge of God’s will and doing of it is important to every person, because our happiness on earthand our eternal destiny depend on it. When we are searching for God’s will we mustn’t forget that God reveals His will to us through His Word, the Bible.
«Therefore whoever hears these saying of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall» (Mathew, 7: 21-27).
The common sense is to know and do the Word of God. The stability and protection of our lives depend on it. Rain, rivers, storm will test every house, every life and every work. The one who builds his life on the rock of God’s Word will live forever which is God’s will for everyone. We will continue tomorrow! May God bless you abundantly!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The philosophy of change

It is quite often that we oppose changes; we resist any changes because we are creatures of habit. If something is new and unusual for us, we don’t like it. Is that the truth? Whatever is unusual to us scares us. We love the comforts of life and if something upsets our comfortable position, we start to fight it with all of our strength.Nevertheless God calls every person to go through changes.

«But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses» (1Timothy, 6:11-12).We say that these three things help us to lay hold on eternal life. We also established that eternal life has its beginning on earth when we get to know the only true God and His Son Jesus Christ.

    2. Forgiveness gives us strength to walk through the stages of our life.& «Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.». • Do not focus of what you do not have; simply go ahead and use what you have! II

God gives to us gifts according to our ability, so He does not call us to do the thigs we are not able to. If God has asked you to do something, it is only because He knows you are able to do it. He won’t give you more than you are able to bear. Simply use what you have.I once read a story about a woman who built a school for the needy. Before she began this, a desire was born in her heart to do it. It became her dream that she was thinking of consistently. At that moment she did not have a thing: no textbooks, no teachers, no building, and no money. But she did have a tremendous desire to fulfil her dream.
