How to turn tragedy into triumph?

Welcome, dear children of God to our column “Daily word for spiritual strength”! I pray so that God´s mercy fills your life todayToday I would like to begin another topic called: “How to turn tragedy into triumph?”The world we are living in is full of tragedies, so the word tragedy itself is well known to all of us either christians or pagans. Though, studying the Bible, we understand that the in God´s initial purpose for human kind was something different. The Bible affirms God blessed a man.
«God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”» (Genesis 1:28).
Notice here that God did not curse but blessed them instead. It´s a God´s will and His purpose to make you blessed and happy person. That´s why I want to challenge you, dear reader, do not put up with anything in your life that doesn´t conform with God´s plan. Reject things that don´t meet God´s purpose for your life. Protest with all your strength and all your mind against any curse and inherit Creator´s blessings instead. You may know why and where the sufferings come from, but you must also be aware of God´s love to you and His willingness to bless you. Many people, led astray believe it is their destiny to suffer and spend the whole life in curses and sufferings. You must get rid of these thoughts and this will be the beginning of your victorious breakthrough from enchanted circle of unhappiness and constant grief. Thinking the way that somebody is the source of your sufferings you will not be able to receive any help from God.One day I was walking in the park in Minsk when noticed one lady who looked upset. When I approached her to say that God loves her, but it made her furious. She replied with “where was the God when I buried my son? Where was He, when called to Him asking to heal my husband? What wrong have I done to Him that He took away my son and my husband?”That beautiful woman became a victim of tragedy taking place in this world. Trying to understand what was going on she accused God. She shut her heart to His love. She simply didn´t realise that God loves her and wants to help her in her situation. Thanks God, at the end of our conversation she understood that God is not her enemy but Friend. She realised that He never takes away sons nor husbands. God is not the author of sufferings and tragedies. It´s vitally important to have understanding of this kind, because this is where victory and changes in our life begin, in our thoughts. That´s why the Bible says that a man is as he thinks. «..for as he thinks about the cost, so he is…” (Proverbs 23:7). There is a way to a better life. There is an exit from tragedy and grief. Your hills of problems and tragedies can be turned into the stairs to climb the heights of God´s blessings and triumph. God´s desire is to show you how to live your life without worrying all the time and celebrate victory after victory, regardless of everything you´ve been or going through right now.God blessed a man not only in the beginning, but even after the man had fallen into sin and lost the glory of God and His protection. God sent Jesus Christ to lay down His life for us in order to open the way to life abundant for all mankind. Through Jesus everyone may have life abundantly.
«The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.» (John 10:10).
God did not send Jesus to judge the world, but obtain salvation through Him (freedom from slavery, liberation from oppressing forces, comfortability and integrity, healing of all kind of wounds, safety etc.)
«For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.» (John 3:17).
this world can become safer to us. Our life can become safer. All these things are possible by faith in Jesus Christ. Let´s elaborate this topic tomorrow!Lord bless youRufus Adjiboje, pastor

  • The example of accountability in the life of apostle Paul II

Leaving for his mission Paul didn´t make himself unaccountable just because he had already been anointed and free. At that moment Paul had become a mature minister established many churches. Nevertheless, he was still an accountable person. He returned to the church at Antioch, to the place he had been sent from, to meet those whom God had been made an authority over Paul. Moreover, Paul also held an account before the apostles in Jerusalem regarding the way his ministry was going.«Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me. I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain». (Galatians 2:1-2).
  • God gives to everyone according to his or her ability III

God has created us in His image and likeness, and He made us to be His children and He has separated us for Himself. God brought us into His wonderful light, into His Kingdom – through Jesus Christ! God has created us in Christ Jesus for good works, which He has ordained for us to do! This is alone is enough to give us a reason to be greatful to God. None of us deserve all these benefits, but God – because of His great love for us – has done all of these things for us in Jesus Christ. And God gave every one of us gifts and talents, so that we could expand His Kingdom and serve Him with His talents. God promises to bless us abundantly as we work and serve in His Kingdom.
  • When you do not see a way out and when everything looks hopeless and bleak, – worship God!

“Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!» (Mathew, 15:25). Many people have a hard time even saying the words „help me”. Many people have a hard time acknowledging that they actually need help. They do not want to admit they are helpless in certain situations and call out for help. Help does not come to those that do not ask for it. Only a humble, broken person is able to ask for help. This woman had a broken heart; for this reason she was able to worship Jesus and ask Him for help. May our hearts be humble before God, so that we can worship God and ask for His help. When you need help, you must humble your heart before God.
  • The evangelism and discipleship

“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”(Mt.4:18-19)I would like you to pay attention to the word “SAW”, which has been mentioned here twice. Passing by, Jesus saw Matthew and two brothers – Peter and Andrew. Jesus had noticed them, somehow they attracted His attention, Jesus invited them to become a part of His team.
  • Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things!

The Lord is coming again! And this parable is prophetic. Jesus is our Lord and He is returning! When He comes back, He will reward every person as he or she deserves. Jesus also will condemn those who deserve it. Verse 19 says that the master came „after a long time”. It means that Jesus is coming at the time when He won’t be expected. But it also means we need to be alert. We must be alert!
  • We must prepare the way so that the Lord could come in glory and fullness!

God has a way. He does not force Himself on people; He is the God of order. Until there will be a way prepared for God, He won’t come. Many of us would like for God to come, but He does not come without proper preparation. God goes where people are ready for His visitation. And when God comes, then all barriers are cast aside, the desert starts blooming, the mountains and hills are brought down, the valleys will be filled, the crooked places are made straight and the rough places are made smooth. God can show us the great picture of what He wants to do among us and through us as His people or the Church. But it will take a serious preparation and it will require of us to be very responsible.
