Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil! III

Greetings to you, precious children of God, on the pages of “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I hope that the topic of the lordship of Jesus Christ will help you realize how important it is to walk in total submission to the Lord Jesus in all areas of our lives. Today we will finish talking about it.Let’s once again look at the passage of Scripture from the book of Prophet Zechariah.
«Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, „The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, „Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, „See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” And I said, „Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by. Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, „Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here»(Zechariah, 3:1-7).
We saw that every time when we come before God, Satan also comes to oppose us with his accusations, since he is the accuser of the brethren. We also saw that Jesus Christ stands before God to justify us, when we walk in the light and confess our sins. The Scripture from Zechariah shows that when we confess our sins before God, repent of them and receive our cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ, that is the moment when our filthy garments are removed from us and God clothes us in the garments for celebration.Besides, when we put on the garments of righteousness through repentance and walking in the light, we also obtain access to the special authority of God.God tells us:
“Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here” (Zechariah, 3:1-7).
If we walk in the ways of the Lord and guard our ways, then God will give us authority to rule, command and walk among angels. If we will walk in the ways of God and receive the lordship of Jesus Christ, we will be able effectively hinder the work of the devil in our lives and the lives of the people around us.Satan will never be able to dispute the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord. But if we are unclean before the Lord, then the devil can dispute the reality of this truth in our lives and oppose us.In closing I want to say that you need to submit yourself to God in all areas of your life, and it begins with repentance. If you have not repented yet and have not passed the reigns of your life to Jesus Christ, then I plead with you to do it right now, without any hesitation. Allow Jesus to become the Lord of your life. If you are still fighting the will of God in some area of your life, give up and ask Him to forgive you; let Jesus lead you and have full authority. And then His authority and rule will work through you so that all works of the devil will be destroyed in your life and in the lives of the people around you.May God bless you abundantly!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How to effectively study the Bible II

Sometimes one word in the Bible can be followed as a thread throughout all of the pages of the Book.I once sat down to write a letter to a brother. I prayed and asked God to help me write not just words, but to make it a blessing for this person. As I was writing, I noticed that I had started preaching in the letter. Later I put it aside, because one word had totally consumed my attention. I began to study this word in the Bible. I began studying the phrases like “God is able” and „God can”. I started reading all the verses that contained these phrases. It was so interesting that I totally forgot about the letter. The study of particular Bible words can be very interesting and profitable.
  • The chief hindrances that block God’s power from working for us

Jesus sometimes connects sickness with sins. This is not always the true for every sickness or situation (John 9:1-3), but very often our problems are connected to some unconfessed sins in our lives.“And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee” (Matthew 9:1-8).
  • Where there is life there is hope

Hope is one of the greatest words of the Christian faith. It is one word the unsaved man cannot use, because there is no hope for the unsaved according to the Bible (Ep.2: 11-13). If you are reading this word today and you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your hope begins with that step. If you want to take that step but you don’t really understand what that means and how to do it, please read our booklet: The Jesus you never knew or visit our page: becoming a friend of God.
  • Life without prayer is a road to nowhere II

    1. Set apart some time for prayer and commit to it.2. Plan where you will pray.It does not have to be at home, but you also do not need to turn prayer into some religious ritual. Be creative when you choose the place for prayer. For instance, there was a time in my life when I made walking into prayer time. I called it “a prayer walk”. I went out in the street for the purpose of prayer.
  • Allow you trouble to enlarge you instead of breaking you

Trouble can either break you or make you. It all depends on your reaction. We will examine the example of David and allow him to teach us today how to react in difficult situation.“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
