Jesus transforms those that follow Him III

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to the „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! We have been talking about God’s desire to see us change and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is very interesting that when we grow other people notice that. I remember the moment when our youngest daughter Esther was born. Her birth brought great joy for your family, because the doctors were concern about her and even advised my wife to do an abortion. When I heard about it I was enraged. I said, “No! We will never do such a thing!” I told the doctor that his calling is to preserve a child’s life and not destroy it. His answer was that in that case it would be our responsibility. My wife and I accepted the challenge. And lo, our daughter was born; her weight was 3.5 kg. After her birth we went to our family doctor every month and observed her to gain weight. It was a sign of her growing. You can imagine how happy we were when the doctor announced that our daughter is fine, that there are no delays in her development and growth. Esther did not just gain weight; she also quickly developed. She started to do things she couldn’t before. And we were so happy about it.

We couldn’t wait till the moment she would be able to sit. Time went by and she learnt to sit and to play with her toys. She got her first teeth. She started walking, eating on her own; she spoke her first words, sang and danced. We saw her growing and developing.

For some time Esther couldn’t roll over, even though doctors said she should. We as parents were concerned. Can you imagine how concerned God is when He sees us not changing for years?

The idea of growth – both physical and spiritual – implies changes. Many believers have been in church for many years, and it would seem they should be at least somewhat grown up, but instead they demand the treatment that of babies. So many should have become teachers and help new believers, but instead they continue to do nothing fruitful. God is not happy with this situation! And, actually, who can be happy with it?

I wasn’t happy when the doctors told me that my daughter was showing signs of delayed development. Right away we found a masseuse that could help us. After several sessions our girl rolled over without any assistance and she liked it too. Our joy was indescribable!

It is the same with our Heavenly Father: when we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ it makes Him extremely happy!

We must keep God’s call to change right before our eyes as one of the most important goals. As soon as we come to God and enter His Kingdom, the desire to change and grow into the likeness of Jesus should be our single desire and our daily bread. And when we start changing, the things around us will change along with the inward changes we experience. Then the most awful situation will change for better and terrible problems will be solved. All of this will happen along with the transformation of our character in the process of the spiritual growth.

«But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen» (2 Peter, 3:18).

I wish you God’s abundant blessings!

  • Do You Hear What God Speaks? III

There is another voice that we hear – it is the voice of other people and the voice of human standpoint. For example, the voice of experts goes in this category – a doctor who proclaims what the medical equipment indicates. A doctor may tell the patient that he will die in three days, because the medical equipment, the analyses and his own medical experience show that. Praise the Lord for our doctors, but we must know that the last word always belongs to God. God often says the totally opposite to what experts say. In such cases, it is necessary that we, while being respectful towards different specialists, put aside the expert conclusions and trust God, not people. The more you trust the expert conclusions and not the Word of God, the less God can give you life.

  • How can we experience God in our life? III

Let Him talk to your heart today. We keep on talking about how we can experience God´s presence, power and His mercy in our life. Yesterday we stated that constant fellowship with God is mandatory in order to experience these things. We quoted many verses from Scripture telling us that people who love God have obvious advantages. For such people God has prepared many pleasant surprises and all things together work for good in their lives and God Himself appears to them.«We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.» (Romans 8:28).

  • The factors upon which a man’s breakthrough in life depends

Getting accustomed to the situation. Very often people get used to their situations and will not try to do anything to change their state of being. This lame guy got used to sitting on the same spot for 40 years and probably did not believe in any change any more.I read this story about one dog that has been tied to a pillar. Each time the dog tried to run, she felt the restriction. After several attempts the dog got used to its position. And even after this dog was untied, it still continued to move around only within the habitual radius.

  • Calling forth convincing and irrefutable proof! II

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles”(Psalm 34:17). God hears you when you cry out to Him and not when you sink in our despair and misery, when you grumble and ‘have pity parties’. There is a cry of faith, which God always hears, because He finds a call for help and intervention in it. In this prayer cry God sees faith in Righteous, Just, Loving and Almighty God.

  • Not only prayer helps us enter God’s presence, it is a source for godly revelations III

We have been talking about prayer as the source of revelation and guidance in our lives. Yesterday, we saw that through prayer and fellowship with God, Jesus knew what and how He must do or speak. Jesus said,“Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19)After Jesus had taught in the temple, He spent nights on the Mount of Olives. There is no doubt, that He met the Father there and they had fellowship, but the next morning He brought a fresh Word for the people who came thirsty to hear this Word.

  • The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God

The point is that favour can be sown not just in relation to other people, but also in relation to God and His work on the earth. Your attitude towards the work of the Kingdom will determine the level of Kingdom blessings operating in your life.«You will rise and have mercy of Zion; for the time to favour her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory» (Psalm 102:13-15).
