Not only prayer helps us enter God’s presence, it is a source for godly revelations III

Peace to you, dear children of God!Praise God for this day that He has given. Praise God for the possibility to abide in His Word, to be in fellowship with Him through prayer and draw there strength, courage and wisdom. We have been talking about prayer as the source of revelation and guidance in our lives. Yesterday, we saw that through prayer and fellowship with God, Jesus knew what and how He must do or speak. Jesus said,
“Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19)
After Jesus had taught in the temple, He spent nights on the Mount of Olives. There is no doubt, that He met the Father there and they had fellowship, but the next morning He brought a fresh Word for the people who came thirsty to hear this Word.
„Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.” (Luke 21:37-38)
If we look at this Scripture in the context, we see that earlier Jesus had called us to be careful that nothing takes away our attention for fellowship with God. Jesus asked people to pray.
„Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)
And so, through fellowship with God we will stop walking in darkness without light, because God illuminates our path and strengthens us in His truth. Moses lived and acted according to revelation from God, Jesus walked in the level of divine revelation; and Paul, through prayer, received a revelation from God. It is interesting that they all had one characteristic – they knew how to be in fellowship with God. They all knew how to come closer to God, because God´s presence and Spirit of revelation were with them in their lives and ministry. When people see God´s presence in your life and your ministry, when they see that God speaks to you and through you, then thanks to your self-sacrifice, more and more people will worship God and feel thirst for Him in their lives. This is exactly what happened when God´s glory descended over Moses prayer tent.
“Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. And whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people rose and stood at the entrances to their tents, watching Moses until he entered the tent. As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the LORD spoke with Moses. Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshipped, each at the entrance to his tent.” (Exodus 33:7-10)
When the Israelites saw the glory of God, they began to worship God at the entrance of their prayer tent, therefore, the place from where they watched what happens. Worship is a natural reaction of a person who sees God´s glory. Is it not our desire for more people to worship God? Is it not the purpose of our lives and ministries that more people know the Almighty God and worship Him properly? Is this not the mission of the Church of Christ that all people, all tribes and tongues all bend their knees before God Almighty and start to worship Him?How do we achieve it?We just have to be prepared to pay the necessary price so that His presence, His glory and revelation would appear in our midst. What is necessary for that? Again, let us look at Moses. He built a separate tent where he and all who wished to could seek the Lord. The glory of God descended to the entrance of the prayer tent.
“Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the LORD spoke with Moses.” (Exodus 33:7,9)
God has prepared a lot a wonderful things and revelations exactly for you, but you can receive and learn all of them only when you start seeking the Lord from all your heart in prayer! With the peace of God!Until tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Everything that is hidden will unavoidably be brought into the light II

«Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!» (Psalms, 32:1-2) David says that after repentance God’s forgiveness comes into person’s life, his transgressions are forgiven, his iniquities are not imputed to him and his sins are covered. David says this person to be blessed. One who does not hide an iniquity in his heart is open before God. But there is no forgiveness for the one who does not repent and does not confess his sins to God.
  • The wisdom of repentance

We do not confess our sins to the Lord it affects our blessings. In the Scripture above it says that „for day and night Your hand was heavy upon me…” Heaviness of the Lord’s hand – it is not a sign of blessing; it is a sign of curse. An unrepentant life takes away an opportunity to move forward in any area of our lives. When we refuse to repent we lose vitality and power and drought comes instead. Vitality is a sign of a blessing, prosperity, but drought is a sign of curse. According to the Bible, in order for us to flourish and prosper and to gain riches we must have vitality or power (Deuteronomy, 8:18). The lack of repentance in a person’s life deprives him of this power.
  • Seek first to do that which is the will of God in all your decisions

If you fear God, the first thing you consider in any decision you make is: “What is God’s will in this matter? What does God say about this issue?” The first question you ask in hard times should never be “How hard is it going to get doing what I am doing” BUT RATHER what is God’s will in this matter?
  • What we sow is what we reap

But it is also important to note that we reap a lot more than we sow. Without sowing we don’t reap at all. If you want to become great and bring fruit in the kingdom of God, if you desire for your life to have godly influence over other people, then you have to sow your life into others. There are no short cuts to greatness and true influence. It would be foolish to expect greatness, multiplication and fruitfulness without sowing. That would be deception!
  • Be a good example for your children, your younger brothers and sisters!

Children watch and learn from us, and they will repeat what they have seen their parents do. For this reason we can say they being a parent is a calling and assignment from God; the task of a parent is to set correct patterns and show a right example for the children. When the woman from Canaan turned to Jesus in a time of distress she did not think that she is setting an example for her daughter of dealing with hard times. Our children need us not just ‘to talk the talk’, but to live in a correct way and demonstrate our convictions by our daily walk.
