Temptations or trials are a kind of test or exam

Good day, my dear friends!Thank Lord for this beautiful day He gave to us! Thanks to God for another opportunity to get filled with His living word! We continue our discussion about how not to give up at the time of troubles and temptation. Yesterday we spoke about the necessity to know that when we are walking through the problems in our life God keeps all our situations under control having already prepared a solution for us. Today I would like to continue this topic and show you that temptations or trials are a kind of test or exam. It can either put a shame on you and take the Spirit of glory away from you or you will rejoice and get excited of the honour to pass this test. Just like the following verse of Scripture says:
«Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you. But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified. For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men’s matters. But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.» (1 Peter 4:12-16).
If you arm yourself with the knowledge that problems and trials are a test to all of us, and once it´s passed we receive a certain reward from God, then a holy desire to win given by God will be awaken within you. None of you is born willing to be a loser in this life. We all desire to win, but no win where is no battle. For the problems and trials are those battles we either get defeated or celebrate the victory at. Going through hardships and pain in our life, we better understand the price, Jesus paid for our salvation. «…you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings…».God wants us to follow principles of the Bible, just like Jesus did, even when having irresistible temptations and strong pain. He also wants us to make sure that all the troubles and hardships are not caused by our worldly way of life: «…let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or as a meddler in other men’s matters ». If you suffer for being a Christian, be not ashamed, because blessed you are and the Spirit of glory, God´s spirit rests on you.»Be patient and strong, so that you can get through all your hardships and problems. Be sure, there is a light and glory waiting for you at the end of this dark tunnel. Only those who get through, obtain experience and wisdom in their life; they become a powerful tools of God´s glory, through them God implements His solutions for the problems of the other people.Dear friends, focus not ourselves on sufferings, pain or problems, but point your attention on the reward and the glory that are waiting for you at the end of the tunnel.     “Put to death your body”- means letting the resurrected life that dwells in you spring its roots. By feeding our old sinful nature we strengthen it and as a result of this the sinful nature prevails the resurrected life inside us. In opposite, when thinking about things that are above ans seeking those things we enable ourselves to celebrate a victory over sin and the old nature.Quite often, when somebody hears that he has to put his body to death he says to himself: “I can´t do it!” This is the voice of your old nature. Though, let me share the good news with you – the Bible says, when Christ reveals Himself so will you in His glory, and your new life will be transformed into abundant life. If we have fellowship with God, seek things that are above and reason about Him, then Christ will definitely reveal Himself in our life.

  • Value God’s Word!

    Today God wants to tell us the same thing. The Word of God is life to us. When God sends us His Word, He offers us life. Rejecting the Word of God we reject life itself. Moses says about God’s Word: «For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life…»It is extremely important for us to appreciate the Word of God and not to treat it as something futile, – it is not like a song that we have listened to and then gone to do our own will. It should be to us like the greatest treasure. We have to value God’s Word, to hide it in our hearts, to appreciate it because it is life to us. God says that through the Word and through our right attitude towards it we can extend or prolong our days. Our attitude toward the Word determines whether we will extend our life or shorten it.

  • In our lives we must reflect the life, the power and the nature of Christ III

    Our ministry is to be the salt and light to our society. God has granted us this ministry, but not because we are better than others. God gave us this ministry because of His mercy. Now as the recipients of God’s mercy we do not have any right to condemn those that do not know God and live under the power of the prince of darkness. God is sending us – His children — into the world to spread the light and reconciliation. While doing this ministry, we should not lose heart; we should not allow anything to stop us. We must be courageous and go forward enduring sorrows as good soldiers of Jesus Christ.

  • Sacrifice as a measure of love! III

    It is not hard to love God – simply think about Him, think about what He does for you every day, and your natural response will be gratefulness. Worshipping God will become a natural thing for those who think about Him and His works. God loves you very much. But, if you live and at the same time do not think about Him, do not see what He does for you, it is hard for you to sacrifice; particularly – it is hard for you to sacrifice your busy daily schedule, your finances, your time, your comfort, because you do not think about Him.
