God doesn’t want us to give up! III

Mercy and peace to you from our Lord, Jesus Christ!Welcome to our column «Daily word for spiritual strength»! For many days in a row we have been discussing on how to not give up having so many troubles and trials around. As we saw yesterday, problems and going through different trials and situations are a part of everybody´s life. Such knowledge prepares us to overcome all those problems and difficulties. The following verse of the Scripture confirms this thought:
«No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.» (1 Cor 10:13).
This verse makes obvious, that God wants us to treat temptations, trials and difficulties as an issue commonto every one in this life. Everybody faces temptations, therefore, by no means ever it should caught us of the guard or come to us as a surprise. Instead of being terrified by temptations, problems and difficulties God wants us to focus our attention on His faithfulness and the solution He has prepared for us in each particular situation. Such attitude towards problems and ordeals will help us to overcome them. So what is the role of God in your life while walking through difficult situations.First of all, God ”will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able”. Maybe you don´t even feel that He is keeping all your situations under control but as a matter of fact, He has already set the limit of your hardships. God will not let things, that are above what you can bear, enter your life. You probably underestimate your own strength, but God knows better. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships. God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, so you can overcome all difficulties in life – that´s the idea you should feed your mind with.Second, God not just keeps all your situations under control, but He « … with the temptation also makes the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.» God gives us relief at the time of temptation and grieves, but we need to learn how to receive this relief from Him. That´s why focusing your attention on God and His word is so important, it helps us to easily discover the solution God has prepared for us in each particular case. When in opposite, your attitude is not right, and you are not seeking God, then you will have to lean on your own strength, which is a hard and long way to victory.May the Lord open your spiritual eyes, so that you can notice and see the solutions He has prepared for you in the different situations of your life.God´s peace be with you!Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • The Christian as an ambassador II

After Jesus left the earth and ascended to heaven, He commissioned us to be His ambassadors or the sent ones (His representatives) on the earth. So we must understand and receive a profound revelation concerning the spiritual authority and power that we have in Christ. The Bible says that Christ made us kings and priests in order that we can reign on earth for Him. It is God, our heavenly Father desires that we all to be busy about His business. His business is to reconcile people with Him. God desires to do the work of reconciliation through us – «we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God». He wants us to declare the word of reconciliation. « God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation » (2 Corinthians, 5:19).
  • Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil!

The measure of our understanding about importance of the lordship of Jesus Christ will determine the level of victory in our lives. No victory is possible without the lordship of Jesus Christ. The victory is where Jesus is. Only the person that allows Jesus Christ to be his or her Lord can truly walk in His victory.Today I would like to give you several illustrations of how, based on the understanding of the lordship of Jesus Christ, we gain protection from all the purposes of the devil. Let’s look into the Bible.
  • What drives your life?

There are many things that drive people’s life, motivate them and influence their system of values. Many believers are driven by wrong motives today. In order to live strategically you definitely have to ask yourself these questions: “Why do I do what I do?”, “What are my secret motives?”, “What values influence my life?”, “What affects my decisions and my choice?”, “What is driving me in the spending of my money and time?”, “What drives my life?”
  • Do not be afraid to work; do not be afraid to sacrifice your time to the Lord! II

Don’t be ashamed of what you have. God has given you those particular talents for you to multiply them, not to hide them. Do not waste your strength on hiding from your calling. Let your talents be visible to others. The talents you possess do not actually belong to you; they belong to the Lord. So, if you are ashamed to use them, it means you are ashamed of the Lord Himself.
  • Presence of God V

God so desires for us to seek Him early in the morning. He so desires for us to return to Him. He wants to heal us and to bind up our wounds. God so wants to revive and restore us, so that we could live before Him. When we seek the Lord, when we seek to know Him, He comes and immerses us into His presence; He pours out His rain on us and waters the earth.Yesterday we talked about how Moses set up a tabernacle outside the camp for all seekers of the Lord. We also saw that instead of entering the tabernacle and seeking the face of the Lord, Israelites were simply observing how Moses spoke to God and how God answered Moses.
