The philosophy of change

Greetings to you, dear friends! I welcome you to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! May God’s grace follow you through this day! I thank God for the opportunity to share with you the word of revelation God has placed in my heart. Today I would like to speak to you about the philosophy of change.It is quite often that we oppose changes; we resist any changes because we are creatures of habit. If something is new and unusual for us, we don’t like it. Is that the truth? Whatever is unusual to us scares us. We love the comforts of life and if something upsets our comfortable position, we start to fight it with all of our strength.Nevertheless God calls every person to go through changes. Most of the time God calls us to change our ways, to think and act differently; when that happens, our very beings screams and fights it. We oppose changes, because we do not understand that Christian living and becoming the disciple of Jesus Christ is impossible without changes. Life of a Christian – from the beginning and till the end – is the way of changes and growth. So we must be open for changes and allow God to transform us.My desire is that every person who reads these daily messages would give the people around them reason to be pleasantly surprised seeing the positive changes the Lord is making in his or her life. God is able to change our lives fundamentally and thoroughly. Do you believe it to be possible?The truth is that we need to be changed because we are not perfect. Is there anyone among you who believes to have reached the state of perfection and is in no need of any further changes? I don’t think any honest person that has common sense can say that about himself. We can agree with the wonderful words of Apostle Paul that are written in the Epistle to Philippians: 
«Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you» (Philippians, 3: 12-15).
 None of us have attained perfection. Every one of us still need to change in our personal lives in order to grow worthy of “the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”.The only One who does not change is the Lord God. He needs no changes, because He is the measure of perfection. God is perfect. His thoughts and principles do not change; His feelings are always the same. Those things that concern God do not change. So in order to become like God we need to change.God desires for us to be transformed and changed into the image of Jesus Christ. That is the only way for us to be truly happy in this life. God knows that we are not able to change ourselves; so He is gradually working in us and changing us as we cooperate with Him. God has many ways to change us. That is what I call God’s philosophy of change.Here I want to point out that God is more interested in our character than in our comfortable life. I know that such a statement bothers and confuses many people. But we have to face this truth. I would like to repeat that God is more interested in our character than in our comfort. From the very beginning of the Christian walk and till the very end of it – changes are one unavoidable component of our lives. God calls us to welcome changes! The goal of these changes is the transformation of our character.If you are not ready to change and resist any possible alterations then you are not ready to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.     We are going to have a look at the two sides of forgiveness.Forgiveness is something, life on Earth would turn into the sufferings of hell without. Every human faces the question of forgiveness time to time. We like the word “forgiveness” when we receive it, but what about when we have to forgive somebody, give something away from yourself? Quite often we are not willing to do so. Though, the true understanding of forgiveness obliges us to notice two sides of forgiveness. Let’s have a look at the verses from Scripture that help us to see them.

  • Ignorance is a matter of personal choice

    If a person does not fulfil this duty, he won’t have enough light to see evil and hide from it. Besides, this verse tells us that such a person (he or she is called „simple”) goes ahead and is punished – not by God, but by his own ignorance. Ignorance separates a person from the life of God, because he knows nothing about God’s provision. «..having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart» (Ephesians, 4:18).Because of ignorance human mind is darkened, heart is hardened and he himself is alienated from the life of God.

  • What we sow is what we reap

    But it is also important to note that we reap a lot more than we sow. Without sowing we don’t reap at all. If you want to become great and bring fruit in the kingdom of God, if you desire for your life to have godly influence over other people, then you have to sow your life into others. There are no short cuts to greatness and true influence. It would be foolish to expect greatness, multiplication and fruitfulness without sowing. That would be deception!

  • Searching for the meaning of life

    Many people ask themselves a question of why they feel inner emptiness. So many continue to walk the wrong way in their lives, and it goes on day after day. They feel their life to be aimless and they continue their walk unmotivated. Multitudes of people do not have a clue of why they live and whether the life is worth living. All of these things happen because they do not have a clear purpose for living. The lack of such a purpose often causes violence, different types of evil, disappointments, emptiness, despair, hopelessness, apathy, anger and so on.

  • How do we serve God?

    We serve God by serving other people in His Name. To serve God actually means to serve other people in the Name of God or as the representative of God on the earth. It is to do good to others by meeting their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical or material needs as an act of our love for God. Please understand that your love for God will have a reflection your relationship with others. In the same way, your neglect of God reflects on how you relate to your neighbour.
