What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time? II

I greet you in the name of Jesus on this wonderful day! May God’s wisdom be multiplied unto you to make you able to go through pain and difficulties with dignity. We are talking about potential advantages that lie dormant in pain and sufferings. Yesterday we saw two particular advantages of pain and suffering. Today we will look at some more.Problems try and purify our faith.Quite often the Bible compares sufferings with the furnace used for the purification of metal that burns up all the dross.
“In this your greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter, 1:6-7).
James also said that our faith when tested demonstrates its true ‘face’.
«My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James, 1:2-3).
Without problems your faith cannot multiply and get strong.Problems form our character. You really cannot develop your character sitting in classrooms. Real situations and different circumstances provide opportunities for the development of the character. The problems that we despise the most have tremendous potential for the growth of spiritual muscles and moral consistency.Apostle Paul says that trials produce patience.
«And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans, 5:3-5).
The circumstances around us are not as important as the changes that are happening inside of us. Our situations are temporary, but the character we are developing through them is eternal.Allow God strengthen your faith and form in you a godly character through the difficult circumstances sent to you. Do not let these problems break your spirit and turn your life into ‘bitter water’. Trust God, and He will make you perfect in all things! We will continue tomorrow.Be blessed!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Prayer is a two-way communication

Like I said, it is not what I tell God that it is the most important thing in prayer; it is what God wants to tell me. I will explain why it is so. Is there anything you can tell Him that He does not know! Is there anything at all? He knows everything. You may think that nobody knows what you are going through and that nobody knows the problems you have and how hard your life is. That may apply to people, but not to God. God knows everything! Even before you start praying, God knows everything you may want to tell Him. God also knows why these things are happening to you.
  • Sin has its consequences

How much suffering there is in the world because of the irresponsibility of fathers and mothers! How many children suffer today because of some addiction of their parents who because of their own satisfaction abandon their families and their children! Sin is the main cause of sufferings, tragedies and illnesses on earth.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! II

Isaiah saw three important things that totally changed his life. Isaiah saw God. He saw God’s greatness and holiness. When you draw near to God, God reveals Himself to you more and more. When we see God we also see ourselves, because we are created in His image and according to His likeness. In His light we see light.Isaiah saw himself. God desires for us to see ourselves clearly. For this very reason He allows different things to happen to us so that our eyes would be open about what we are like inside.
  • Transformed person is a person with the right and pure motives

Transformed person serves other people because he loves them, not in order to benefit from them. It makes me sad when I meet people who minister because it gives them a certain benefits. It´s awfully hard to change a person who has such motives. Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus was one of this kind. For three and a half years he had stayed with Jesus, but in no way it changed him, because he had sinister motives. Judas Iscariot was greedy, money loving man. Jesus put Judas in charge with financial part of His ministry, so he had access to money and offerings. First Judas began to steal money from their pay-box, later also betrayed his Master.
  • We are created in Christ Jesus

It means that in Christ we can discover our gifts and find use for them in compliance with God’s predestination. It also means that in Christ Jesus we are guaranteed satisfaction with life. «You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, even from the rebellious, that the LORD God might dwell there»(Psalm, 68:18).
