Seek first to do that which is the will of God in all your decisions

Peace from God and grace be multiplied unto you this day. I am glad we can continue to dig into the word of God to gain access to His wisdom that can transform our lives. As we continue to discuss the topic of the fear of God, I see the necessity to share a few more thoughts with you on this subject. Yesterday we saw that the fear of God expresses itself in hatred for sin. That is the first way to determine if you have this fear or not. Today I want to show you another side of how the fear of God manifests in our lives. If you fear God, the first thing you consider in any decision you make is: “What is God’s will in this matter? What does God say about this issue?” The first question you ask in hard times should never be “How hard is it going to get doing what I am doing?” but rather, “What is God’s will in this matter?”The fear of God will keep you from falling away from God and His perfect will for your life. For example, many people fall away from God because of a strong desire to get married. Others fall away because of money, pleasure, inconvenience, or hardship.A person falling away from God because they haven’t gotten married reveals that the reason they became a Christian was to have their desire for marriage met.Every tough decision and every temptation you face will reveal the level of your fear and respect for God.The level of our fear of God will be revealed through temptations and all the tests we will encounter. The test of Job was to reveal if he really feared God. Was he just pretending to fear God because God had blessed him, or did he truly love and respect the person of God? Satan came to God and asked Him to put Job to the test to see how Job was doing in the fear of God.
“Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, doth Job fear God for nought?”  Job 1:9
We know the end result of this test. Job demonstrated his fear of God by clinging to God when things were rough and tough.
“Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,  21And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.   22In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly” (Job1:20-22).
When his wife told him to deny God and die instead of holding on to Him and enduring such unbearable pain, Job shut her down.
“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 10But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips” (Job 2: 9-10)
What kept Job from sinning against God and making the right choice during his difficult time? It was the fear of God. When things are tough, when you are pressured to make a decision, the way you approach it is what determines your level of the fear of God. Seek first to do that which is the will of God in all your decisions. That is the word of God for you today! Remain blessed! Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time? II

Problems try and purify our faith.Quite often the Bible compares sufferings with the furnace used for the purification of metal that burns up all the dross. “In this your greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter, 1:6-7).
  • The truth shall make free

Many people today are running here and there in search of freedom, deliverance and happiness. However, God has place in our hand the responsibility of delivering ourselves from the snare of the devil“Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler” (Proverb 6: 4-5).
  • What is calling? How to reveal personal calling and how to enter it?

Recognising of your calling and your task in this life is a process that consists of many small details. Quite often, people try to reveal their calling, while neglecting those small details that make the whole process. Nowadays, many people are unhappy because they either lack revelation for their life or oppose to such revelation, or simply lack understanding of how to fulfil the revelation. Let´s figure it all out.First thing to know is the fact that you were born to carry out a certain task. Bible says our life on this Earth has a goal and value determined. You are not a result of an accident! You were born on this Earth not just for the matter of occupying some space and breathing. You´ve got a mission to fulfil, a way to measure. You are created to take care for others and saved to minister. There many places in the Bible talking about this. We are going to elaborate the verse from Paul´s letter to Ephesians 2:10
  • The seed contains tremendous potential

Our attitude towards God’s Word is very important. God sends His Word into our lives so that His Word would bring to us that which we need. In order for the seed of God’s Word to grow in our hearts, the condition of our hearts is particularly important. «For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing which I sent it.» (Isaiah 55:10-11).
  • Life is short

All things we have mentioned so far are connected together. Life is time, life is a goal, life is a test, life is trust, and now life is short. This world as we know it now is not your home. God has a New Heaven and a new earth. The kingdom and the system of this world will be overthrown so that it becomes the Kingdom of our God and His Christ. Your life itself is regarded as a vapour that appears for a little time.
  • The goal and intentions of God for men on the earth

Heaven is the place from which Jesus rules and reigns over everything. What God says about us in His Word is the truth which we must believe. Now we have God’s nature in us and it must be continually fed and nurtured. We must believe that now we have heavenly authority and power that was given to us in order to destroy the works of devil on earth. That is what Jesus did when He walked on the planet earth: He destroyed and undo the works and intentions of the devil. He set an example for us to follow in His foot steps:«For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil» (1 John, 3:8b).
