The evangelism and discipleship

I am very glad to welcome you to our column, Daily Word for Spiritual Strengths.

Today I would like to continue yesterday’s theme about evangelism and discipleship. Let’s have a look in the Bible to see what Jesus did to gather people into His team.

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. (Mt.9:9)

Let’s have a look at one more verse:

“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”(Mt.4:18-19)

I would like you to pay attention to the word “SAW”, which has been mentioned here twice. Passing by, Jesus saw Matthew and two brothers – Peter and Andrew. Jesus had noticed them, somehow they attracted His attention, Jesus invited them to become a part of His team. If our aim is to reach out to people, make them disciples of Jesus and share the Gospel with them,- and that is exactly what God commands us to do-, we should understand that we will not be very successful unless we have a good team around us. That is why it is important to create united team, so with the help of each other we can bring people to Jesus. It is a continuous process. We need wisdom and vision from God to make a good and successful team. It is vital to include the right people in a team.

My dear friend, it does not matter what your calling is or which direction your work for God is going in at the moment, but it is essential that you have a good team around you. So as you move forward into the work God has called you to do, please pay attention to the people around you. Jesus saw people. Do the same, try to notice people who need your guidance and help to become disciples of Jesus and even join your team.

Please remember that every one of us has been called to make disciples of all nations for Jesus.

    If we walk in the ways of the Lord and guard our ways, then God will give us authority to rule, command and walk among angels. If we will walk in the ways of God and receive the lordship of Jesus Christ, we will be able effectively hinder the work of the devil in our lives and the lives of the people around us.Satan will never be able to dispute the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord. But if we are unclean before the Lord, then the devil can dispute the reality of this truth in our lives and oppose us.

  • I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!

    According to the word of God we are already granted everything we need in order to succeed in this life. God has already given us all that we need to have life abundantly. There is no such need in our life God has not taken care for yet. We only have to get to know God and His precious promises, so that we can prevail the lust of this world and fulfil our call from God.«Seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.». (2 Peter 1:3-4).

  • God’s discipline II

    1. Use the spiritual weapons God has given you: «Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God» (Ephesians, 6:10-17).

Bible is full of principles and instructions for a happy life on the earth, and – the most important – it gives us a guarantee of eternal life. Every wise person not only reads the Bible, but also uses its principles in his daily walk.
