God gives to everyone according to his or her ability II

I am so happy to be with you today, dear readers of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! Today I would like to continue talking about talents and abilities that are given by God to every person on this earth. You have a talent that matches your ability to handle it, and God desires for you to multiply it. It will affect your future. What you have from God today will determine your place in eternity. Your eternal reward will depend on what you have been doing with your talents. You can either bury your talents or multiply them. You can return to God your talent that He gave you, and say to Him that you did not succeed. You can simply complain about your life and not even try changing or accomplish something in your life.or you can invest your talent and expand His kingdom with it, everything depend on you.
«After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them» (Mathew, 25:19).
Some institutions require annual, monthly or weekly accounts. It is good because accountability helps keep things in order. Taxing authorities require monthly reports, and that forces us to keep our books in order. Possibly, if there hadn’t been such requirements, most of people would have their finances in a mess. Reports and the awareness of the fact, that you will have to give an account, help a person ‘to stay in shape’. The truth is that you will have to give an account for the talents and gifts God has given you.The parable we have been exploring, to shows us that after giving out the talents, the Master was away for a long time. And at that time there were people who thought that in the Master’s absence they could do anything they want to. But it is important to remember that there comes a day for every one of us when we will have to give an account for what we have done with our talents and gifts. What have you been doing with your life? How do you spend your time? What do you do with your properties? What have you been doing with the talents and mental facilities that God has entrusted you? How have you been participating in the building of the Kingdom of God? Have you been investing yourself and your possessions into the building of God’s Kingdom? What have you been doing with yourself?Time will reveal who is doing what, what you have been doing and how you’ve been living. It is very important, but it is also scary. It makes us think on what we are really doing in this life. Those who invest themselves into God’s Kingdom have nothing to worry about or fear. It is one of the reasons why we continually ask and call people to serve the Lord in our churches. Serve the Lord! Do something to build the Kingdom of God! I would really like for each person in this church to multiply the talents God has given him or her.
«So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, „Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.” His lord said to him, „Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord» (Mathew, 25:20-21).
I would be really happy if every person in our church could hear from God: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”Every one of us is a carrier of God’s gifts, and it is our choice whether we multiply them or bury them.May God help you to multiply God given talents by the Spirit of God and use them for God’s Kingdom!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Why is it so important to hold on to eternal life?

If you won’t be alert and pray, you won’t even notice how eternal life will slip away from you. Have you ever tried to hold a live fish in your hands? Even if you manage to take it, it can cunningly slip out of your hands. In the very same way eternal life can slip away from you without you even noticing. You won’t notice the moment when that happens. You could go on with your religious activities, attending church meetings, praying, reading the Bible, but not be on the way to eternal life. None of these things is able to guarantee to you that you will surely keep eternal life. You know, so many unbelievers do all these things: they go to church, read their Bibles, pray.
  • Purpose for living II

Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others

Today I would like to start discussing about the blessedness or beauty of serving others.Ministry is a widespread concept among believers. In essence, ministry is giving of all things: giving of one’s talents and gifts, one’s knowledge and time, one’s heart and resources. The Kingdom of God is built through such giving. Your church is built by your giving and ministry. It says in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God blesses those who serve, so if you want to get to the top of God’s blessedness learn to serve God and people.
  • «Follow Me, and I will make you!» – here is a key to changes

«And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God» (Romans, 12:2).When I read the Word, meditate on it and apply it to my life, I initiate changes in my life and actions, since my thoughts and views grow alike with God’s thoughts and His will. God says that His thoughts and His ways are not like ours.
  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness! II

Today we will look at some more areas of Solomon’s life where he tried to find happiness and satisfaction. Many people try to do that. Let’s look at the Scripture.«Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind. Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me»(Ecclesiastes, 2:16-17).
  • We multiply our talents by using them and putting them to practise

We have to apply our gifts. We must find for ourselves a place in church, in God’s Kingdom. Your barrenness is nobody’s fault, but yours. Learn to apply your talents and do it well. Whatever you do, do it well to be called a good and faithful servant. The word „faithful” contains deep meaning. You can depend on a faithful servant; he is reliable; he never lets down.
