The lordship of Jesus Christ II

Dear friends, welcome to the „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification». I trust that this word that contains God’s wisdom will strengthen you and lift up your spirit. We have been talking about the lordship of Jesus and about what it means for us in our daily life. Yesterday we saw that the lordship of Jesus implies His rule over everything and everybody. We also saw that the Lord desires to exercise His lordship on this earth through His Body which is the Church. The Bible says that we live in the midst of enemies.
«The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies» (Psalm 110:1-2).
This passage talks about Christ: «Rule in the midst of Your enemies», but the Body of Christ — His Church — is included in this prophetic word. Jesus was told to sit at the right hand of God; but it would be God’s children that would overcome God’s enemies and every thing that rise against the will of God. God wants us to rule and reign in the midst of the enemies and unfavourable circumstances. We must rule because we have been given God’s authority and we were born conquerors.
«For whatever is born of God overcomes the world…» (1 John, 5:4).
We must be the one overcoming and not the one to be overcome! God is not afraid of anything, because He rules and reigns over everything. God is the Ruler! He wants us to express our faith and authority as rulers on this earth.God wants every one of us to live above the circumstances and not ‘under the circumstances’. God desires us to exercise authority and rule of Jesus over all things and circumstances and to subdue all things that rise against the will of God in our lives and on this earth.
«For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ» (2 Corinthians, 10: 3-5).
God has already given us authority on this earth. Do not forget that
“whatever is born of God overcomes the world» (1 John, 5:4).
God bless you!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

The big picture or the global project consists of multitude of small detail. As the saying goes, «Every trip starts with the first step».Repentance is the first step. After you repent of your sins, Jesus becomes your Lord. What does that mean? The Lordship of Jesus implies doing of what He tells you.
  • Isaiah saw three important things that totally changed his life

Whoever loves God serves people. The one who serves people is blessed and exalted by God. Ministry is a sacrifice. When you serve, you give what is yours – time, money, energy, sleep, food etc. God loves generous hearts, and He can’t pass by this type of people.Do you know why God blessed Abraham? It was because Abraham was a generous man. He was ready to give anything to God. Abraham left his family in obedience to God; he yielded to his nephew and allowed him to choose a place of lodging first. Abraham gave tithe to God at the time when no such law existed. He did not refuse to sacrifice to God his own son. For this reason God blessed him.

There are many things that drive people’s life, motivate them and influence their system of values. Many believers are driven by wrong motives today. In order to live strategically you definitely have to ask yourself these questions: “Why do I do what I do?”, “What are my secret motives?”, “What values influence my life?”, “What affects my decisions and my choice?”, “What is driving me in the spending of my money and time?”, “What drives my life?”

  • Do You Hear What God Speaks? II

Apart from the voice of our common sense, we often hear the voice of our feelings. Also feelings have a voice. But neither this voice always reflects what God says. Our feelings are changing, quite often they depend on outer factors – our mood, weather, how tired we are, etc. If we listen to our feelings only, our chances to constant success are eliminated. For instance, you can often feel lonely, weak, unloved, a failure, etc. Nevertheless, such feelings often do not accord with reality. If you are lead by your feelings and take them as truth, you will not be able to enjoy the life in abundance that God has prepared for you. God gives this life only to those who hear His voice and follow Him!
  • Preparation is a key to effective life! II

Your tomorrow is the outcome of your today´s efforts and time you spend. Your today impacts your tomorrow, therefore, you better prepare yourself for tomorrow, use your time to develop yourself, building up your character and skills. If you disobey God today, you will not be able to enter your promised land tomorrow, due to the cruelty of your heart. If you take care for today, God will take care for your tomorrow then.
