What are you doing with your promotion? III

Peace to you, dear friends! I am grateful to God for this opportunity to share with you a word of wisdom from the Lord. Bible says that wisdom adds glory to a person’s face; wisdom exalts a person. That is why today I would like to continue on how we can earn a promotion from the Lord.Yesterday we looked at David. He was different from others because he loved God, His Words and people with all of his heart. David loved and praised God when nobody saw him, because he wasn’t doing it for the people; he was doing it for the Lord. And God was watching David. At the time Saul was the king of Israel. Before becoming a king, Saul was very shy and felt insignificant in his own eyes. God was the one who exalted him. But after this amazing promotion Saul became prideful and started considering himself equal to God; he did not listen to God anymore. He did everything his way, not the way God told him. «His own way» is disobedience. Saul forgot the One Who exalted him. Because of it Saul was humbled and David was anointed to be a king. God exalted David. And this promotion did not change David’s heart: he continued to love and praise God, just as he did when he was a shepherd. Once, David danced before the Lord and his wife laughed at him calling him a fool. But David did not take it personal; in his heart he knew that his actions were pleasing to God. David did not get puffed up; in all things he sought the Lord and depended on Him. Saul wanted to build his own kingdom. When Saul sinned and God sent to him Prophet Samuel, he did not repent but asked Samuel to make everyone like him and secure this place for him. Samuel answered that his kingdom had been taken away from him and given to the man who deserved it.Whosoever desires to be promoted by God needs to remain humble and simple. I have noticed that many of us cannot sing and dance before the Lord because we have become very important. Remember how freely you worshipped the Lord when you first got saved! It is rather difficult to fellowship with some believers nowadays, because they have become so ‘adult’, serious, important… David, the shepherd, and King David – both praised and loved God in the same way; the change of position in life did not affect the condition of his heart. We have to cleanse our hearts from haughtiness and pride.
«Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life» (Proverbs, 4:23).
God desires to bless and exalt every person on this earth, but it is very important what is filling his or heart. Exaltation from God must not cause haughtiness or pride; it must bring humility and gratitude, because all the good things in our lives come from God alone. Exaltation does not come from men; it comes from God Who is the Father of light.
«Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning» (James, 1:17).
May God abundantly bless every one of you on this day!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How accountability helps us to change and grow spiritually?

Accountability is a sincere confession or opening of one’s secrets of his Christian walk to the others in the atmosphere of mutual trust. We are ready to give account of what we do with our lives, what we understand or do not understand, in what areas are weak or in need of assistance. When we are accountable we are willing to admit whether we are growing or not. We are able to give account of what we are learning in order to receive support, encouragement or correction.
  • Your attitude influences your progress

The judgements, the beliefs, and the convictions of a person influence his attitude and this attitude has an effect on the progress we make. The man in the parable did not multiply his talent because he had the wrong attitude. This man believed lies rather than the truth. That is the lies which many people believe, which become an obstacle to their progress and development. The lies can go something like, “no one loves me”, then any attempt from people to show love towards you, will be rejected. A person believing in lies from the enemy will not be able to accept blessings, help, and advice from others, as all this would be misinterpreted.
  • God gives to everyone according to his or her ability II

You have a talent that matches your ability to handle it, and God desires for you to multiply it. It will affect your future. What you have from God today will determine your place in eternity. Your eternal reward will depend on what you have been doing with your talents. You can either bury your talents or multiply them. You can return to God your talent that He gave you, and say to Him that you did not succeed. You can simply complain about your life and not even try changing or accomplish something in your life.or you can invest your talent and expand His kingdom with it, everything depend on you.«After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them» (Mathew, 25:19).
  • The best and most influential sermon we can ever preach is the message of our lives

My life preaches even when I don’t know about it. This is why it is so important to be changed so that our lives reflect what we say and comply with it. Our lives must be our loudest sermon and not our words. It is the will of God for us.God changes us not only through trials and hardships, but also through His grace and mercy.
  • Changes mean working hard persistently!

God does this work through the Holy Spirit. We can collaborate with God in this process by our full obedience to Him.God wants to change you. If you are shy today, God wants to see you bold. If you are doubtful today, God wants to see you full of faith. Even if you are shy and pretend being as such because you inherited this quality from your ancestors and relatives – let me tell you, God desires to change it in you. He will accomplish this task if you allow it to Him.
  • Why do people choose to be irresponsible? II

Being responsible is connected to the condition of person’s heart. If the heart is wicked and the mind is not renewed, then it would be futile to expect responsible behaviour. The servant who buried his talent did not think highly of his lord. He considered his lord to be a cruel man who reaps where he has not sown and gathers where he has not scattered seed. Because of these ponderings in his heart he did not have the motivation to do his best
