Preparation of the way of the Lord III

Dear children of God, once again I welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!

We have established that God only comes when we have prepared the way for Him. We can do that by ministering to Him and fulfilling His calling in our lives. We pointed out that we have to use all possible means to preach the Gospel of Kingdom in this world, because that is the necessary prerequisite for the Coming of the Lord in glory and power. Let’s look at one more verse from the Scripture that talk about preparing the way of the Lord.

«Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts» (Malachi, 3:1).

God desire to come; He wants to touch His people – to save, deliver and heal His children. But unless we are prepared for His visitation, He won’t come. It is our readiness that precedes God’s readiness to come. Christ will come to those who seek Him and expect Him that is to those who have prepared the way of the Lord.

«…so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation» (Hebrews, 9:28).

When we are ready, God will come as He has promised and He won’t delay. Let’s prepare the way for Him! In order for us to do that, we have to pay a price, and we mustn’t fear. Let’s pay the price, otherwise all of our activities are just a game of ‘playing church’.

How can we prepare the way of the Lord? What is the price we should pay for it?

  1. The price includes being alone with God.

Let’s build an altar for God – a place of daily communion with God. The following verse calls us to it. «Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice» (Psalm, 50:5) (see also Exodus, 20:24-26; Genesis, 8:20; 1 Kings, 18:30).

  1. The price includes personal holiness and purity.

The Bible talks about the pure of heart that will see God. And God calls us to purify ourselves from the filth of flesh and spirit so that we could prepare the way of the Lord. «Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God» (Mathew, 5:8). (see also Exodus, 19:10-11, 15; 2 Corinthians, 7:1).

  1. The price includes humble living.

It says in the Bible that God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud. Pride is the spirit of Antichrist, and humility is the spirit of Christ. God abides with the humble. Humility before God is the key to healing and revival.

«Thus says the LORD: „Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, and ll those things exist,” says the LORD. „But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.”» (Isaiah, 66:1-2). (see also Psalm, 138:6; 2 Chronicles, 7:14).

  1. The price includes great faith and expectation of God’s glory.

God won’t come where there is no expectation. You need faith to please God. «But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him» (Hebrews, 11:6). Faith is confidence in the unseen and expectations of promises. We must expect the fulfilment of the promise of His coming. We must expect the appearance of His glory.

«Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side» (Isaiah, 60:4).

We must expect the fulfilment of God’s promise that the earth will be filled with God’s glory. And this expectation should motivate us for action and work. We must ‘work out’ our expectation.

God bless you!

  • God has left us two most important commandments – to love God and to love our neighbour as ourselves.!

Walking in love is the determining factor of how happy we will be on this earth. Any one of us can become a happy person, who is satisfied with life, if only we will live in accordance to the law of love. In other words, my attitude towards God and the people around me determines whether I will be happy or not. If you want to be happy, then my advice to you is to love God and your neighbour without deceit!
  • The principle of a right confession

God helped Abraham to believe Him, Who calls those things which do not exist as though they did. This is the principle of right confession. God calls those things that do not exist as though they did. When God gave Abram a new name – Abraham, he did not have any descendants. Neverthelss, because of this new name Abraham began calling himself “a father of many nations”. And when he called himself by name or he was called by others – every time what God had purposed was confessed – particularly that Abraham is going to be a father of many nations. We see that Abraham „contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations…”
  • So a disciplined person is able to subject or control himself

A disciplined person is always in submission to certain set of rules and order. If you do not have any rules or regulations, if you avoid the word ‘order’, in your life, then you are undisciplined, and you won’t be able to experience any spiritual progress or growth.Spiritual growth which is related to positive changes in a person’s life is not a heritage meant for undisciplined people. If a person lacks discipline, he will always break and ignore rules and regulations. It does not matter how many sets of rules and regulations he impose on himself for noble purposes, an undisciplined man will break them all as soon as he made them.
  • In order for you to be constant in this life you need to overcome human factor!

«And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word» (Mathew, 15: 22-23). At the time when a woman from Canaan was following Jesus and asking for help, His disciples were telling her to leave. That is what I call a human factor.
  • God doesn’t want us to give up! III

First of all, God ”will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able”. Maybe you don´t even feel that He is keeping all your situations under control but as a matter of fact, He has already set the limit of your hardships. God will not let things, that are above what you can bear, enter your life. You probably underestimate your own strength, but God knows better. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships. God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, so you can overcome all difficulties in life – that´s the idea you should feed your mind with.
  • Your gift will make room for you! IV

In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents. «For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey» (Mathew, 25: 14-15).Jesus shows us here that the criterion of His assessment is not quantity, but faithfulness. God know that every one of us has different abilities, so the quantitative result will be different for different people. Numbers are not important to Jesus; He cares about how faithful you have been with what God has given you. He cares about your attitude towards His work.
