Do you find the time for solitude (quite time) with God?

Grace to you and peace from  our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you! Welcome to the column of our «Daily word for spiritual edification»!Yesterday I was sharing with you what «standing on your watch» means. And I said, spiritually speaking  «standing on your watch» means to create around you such an atmosphere where there is no  disturbance to hear God´s voice. We talked about Habakkuk who stood on his watch because he wanted to hear God´s voice, and so he actually heard God’s voice.John was in the spirit and was lifted up  to receive the revelation from God.Daniel and his friends retreated for  cooporate prayer together, and God revealed to them  in a night vision a secret that saved and delivered them from perishing.
«Then was the secret revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his. He changes the times and the seasons; he removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. I thank you, and praise you, you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter».(Daniel 2:19-23).
If you want to hear God´s voice, then you must be ready to pay the price for solitude or quite time with Him. After the Lord called Paul, he spent three years in solitude with God in Arabia, where he received the revelations from God.
“But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days.». (Galatians 1:15-18).
Our separation unto God is advantageous to us. But you won´t be able to hear the  voice of God while spending all of your time only walking through “the earthly places”. In order to access God´s heart and His wisdom you must rise up higher in the spirit. So, are you standing on your watch? Are you doing your best to develop sensitivity to the voice of God and so that God can speak with ? Are you creating the atmosphere that helps you to become sensitive to the voice of Holy Spirit? Do you find the time for solitude with God?God will commune with you and open His heart to you, if you will open and prepare your heart  for Him.Receive the grace right now to be able to separate yourself unto God to rise up higher in the spirit and access Divine instructions that will empower you for great exploits in God.We already mentioned earlier that God reveals His secrets to those who fear and love Him. He also reveals His secrets to those standing on their watch. In addition to that , God reveals His secrets to those who sincerely ask Him questions.Studying the books of  the prophets in the Bible we can notice, that God´s prophets continually saw visions and often asked God  questions regarding what they see. They inquired from God by asking questions like: “What is this? Where do we go? When is this going to happen? What does it mean?”Daniel, for example, inquired from God regarding the prophetic visions he had received.
«I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.».(Daniels 7:16).
After this question, Daniel received the interpretation of the visions, therefore, and  could understand how to practically apply those visions.Something similar happened  to prophet Zechariah after he had seen a vision of a man with a measuring line in his hand. The prophet asked the man: «Where are you going?», then he received an answer to his question and also the interpretation of his vision.
«I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. Then I asked, “Where are you going?”» (Zechariah 2:1-2).
Those who never ask questions, never get an answer and never learn anything new. It´s necessary to constantly ask God questions in order to move on in God´s plans. Are you asking God questions regarding the goals and the task of your life? If your answer is “no”, then start to do so right from today! Inquire of God  difficult questions regarding your life, because nothing is too difficult for Him. Then you will be surprised  how He will begin to order your paths.God bless you all!Rufus AJiboye, pastor

  • Preparation of the way of the Lord III

We have established that God only comes when we have prepared the way for Him. We can do that by ministering to Him and fulfilling His calling in our lives. We pointed out that we have to use all possible means to preach the Gospel of Kingdom in this world, because that is the necessary prerequisite for the Coming of the Lord in glory and power. Let’s look at one more verse from the Scripture that talk about preparing the way of the Lord.

What does fruitfulness depend on? On the level of understanding of the mysteries of God’s Kingdom. As we mentioned, if a person listens to the Word of God but does not understand it, then Satan comes and steals the Word. Those who understand the Word bring forth fruit – thirtyfold, sixtyfold and hundredfold. That is why the first requirement for being fruitful in His kingdom is an understanding of the mysteries of God’s Kingdom. Today I would like you to see to whom God reveals the mysteries of His Kingdom.
  • All great things always start small and insignificant

Yesterday we began talking about how all great things always start small and insignificant. In order to enter the fullness of your calling and ministry, we need to do what is revealed to us today whatever that would be. Your knowledge, your experience and your mind – these are all gifts from God which we can use in serving people. When you serve people with your gifts, then these gifts make room for you. «A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men» (Proverbs, 18: 16).Studying the church history, we see that all of God’s generals didn’t start big. These people used what they had and did whatever they could. They began using the abilities they had. Eventually, their gifts found their place in the Body of Christ and grew into large ministries.

«He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction» (Psalm, 107:20).God’s Word is able to radically change your life. And it is wonderful! We can’t even imagine and fully grasp what a tremendous power is contained in God’s Word! It does not matter what circumstances surround you today and what people are saying or doing against you. It often happens that the closest people hurt us and it affects us deeply.
  • Whatever a man sows that shall he also reap

All of life is sowing. Our words are seeds, our actions are also seeds. Even our all your passivity or inactions are also seeds. So, everyday of your life, you are either sowing into the flesh or sowing into the spirit. One way to sow into the spirit is make use of every opportunity to do that which is good towards all men, especially towards them that are of the household of faith.
