Do you find the time for solitude (quite time) with God?

Grace to you and peace from  our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you! Welcome to the column of our «Daily word for spiritual edification»!

Yesterday I was sharing with you what «standing on your watch» means. And I said, spiritually speaking  «standing on your watch» means to create around you such an atmosphere where there is no  disturbance to hear God´s voice. We talked about Habakkuk who stood on his watch because he wanted to hear God´s voice, and so he actually heard God’s voice.

John was in the spirit and was lifted up  to receive the revelation from God.

Daniel and his friends retreated for  cooporate prayer together, and God revealed to them  in a night vision a secret that saved and delivered them from perishing.

«Then was the secret revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his. He changes the times and the seasons; he removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. I thank you, and praise you, you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter».(Daniel 2:19-23).

If you want to hear God´s voice, then you must be ready to pay the price for solitude or quite time with Him. After the Lord called Paul, he spent three years in solitude with God in Arabia, where he received the revelations from God.

“But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days.». (Galatians 1:15-18).

Our separation unto God is advantageous to us. But you won´t be able to hear the  voice of God while spending all of your time only walking through “the earthly places”. In order to access God´s heart and His wisdom you must rise up higher in the spirit.

So, are you standing on your watch? Are you doing your best to develop sensitivity to the voice of God and so that God can speak with ? Are you creating the atmosphere that helps you to become sensitive to the voice of Holy Spirit? Do you find the time for solitude with God?

God will commune with you and open His heart to you, if you will open and prepare your heart  for Him.

Receive the grace right now to be able to separate yourself unto God to rise up higher in the spirit and access Divine instructions that will empower you for great exploits in God.

We already mentioned earlier that God reveals His secrets to those who fear and love Him. He also reveals His secrets to those standing on their watch. In addition to that , God reveals His secrets to those who sincerely ask Him questions.

Studying the books of  the prophets in the Bible we can notice, that God´s prophets continually saw visions and often asked God  questions regarding what they see. They inquired from God by asking questions like: “What is this? Where do we go? When is this going to happen? What does it mean?”

Daniel, for example, inquired from God regarding the prophetic visions he had received.

«I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.».(Daniels 7:16).

After this question, Daniel received the interpretation of the visions, therefore, and  could understand how to practically apply those visions.

Something similar happened  to prophet Zechariah after he had seen a vision of a man with a measuring line in his hand. The prophet asked the man: «Where are you going?», then he received an answer to his question and also the interpretation of his vision.

«I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. Then I asked, “Where are you going?”» (Zechariah 2:1-2).

Those who never ask questions, never get an answer and never learn anything new. It´s necessary to constantly ask God questions in order to move on in God´s plans.

Are you asking God questions regarding the goals and the task of your life? If your answer is “no”, then start to do so right from today! Inquire of God  difficult questions regarding your life, because nothing is too difficult for Him. Then you will be surprised  how He will begin to order your paths.

God bless you all!

  • Value God’s Word! III

For several days now we have been talking about the role of God’s Word in our lives. We talked about the Word of God being our life and about the fact that our right attitude towards it can prolong our days. Also we learned that our attitude towards God’s Words determines how strong the foundation of our lives will be and how able we are to withstand the troubles of this life. Today I would like to look at another facet that demonstrates the significance of God’s Word for us.

Today we will look at some more areas of Solomon’s life where he tried to find happiness and satisfaction. Many people try to do that. Let’s look at the Scripture.«Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind. Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me»(Ecclesiastes, 2:16-17).

  • Organization of effective prayer life III

Prayer is getting close to God.Let’s look at James (4:8): «Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…».Prayer means to consciously draw near to God. Prayer means to approach God on purpose.Who of you wants to draw near to God? Who of you desires for God to draw near to you? God cannot be closer to you than He is. But you can draw near to Him. God is so close to us; He says: „I am here!” You are asking: «God, where are You?” Remember when Elijah ran away and cried: «God, where are You?” But God was with him. God is everywhere! And we can draw near to Him through prayer.

  • Without God I cannot, but with Him I can do all!

We can not do the works of God without God. Very often in our own strength, we try to do what God requires us to do with Him. Often we rely on ourselves and on things we already know. Often we rely on our experience. But when the prayer is our priority we understand that when relying on ourselves and doing the job without prayer, we are wasting time and energy. Without a strong prayer movement in the church, the church vision cannot be accomplished. It´s just not possible!

God wants us to cooperate with Him. His future and our future is a great, bright one. But we have to cooperate with Him to make sure this imagined future becomes a reality in our lives. It might be that today you look small in your own eyes, but God wants to give you a great future. And He does not keep us in ignorance about the prospects for the future, and for this very reason He gave us the Holy Spirit. One of the things that the Holy Spirit does is revealing the future God has prepared for us.
