Why God does speaks to us and why is it so important for us to learn to hear His voice?

Good morning, dear friends! I thank God for another opportunity to share with you the word of wisdom from our Father God. We have already realised that God is alive and He speaks. We also saw all the advantages and privileges available to the people who have learned to hear and follow the instructions of God.Let’s now sum up all that we have been talking about for so long. So why God does speaks to us and why is it so important for us to learn to hear His voice?
  1. To give us revelation about God (about Himself).
First of all, God will speak to us in order to reveal the truth about Himself. If we fail to hear the voice of God we will never get Him to know well enough to become His friends.
«Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God’s mountain, to Horeb. The angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. When Yahweh saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said, “Moses!Moses!” He said, “Here I am.” He said, “Don’t come close. Take off your sandals from off your feet, for the place you are standing on is holy ground.” Moreover he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.». (Exodus 3:1-6).
God introduced Himself to know Moses so as to reveal Himself to Moses. Moses would have never become such wonderful favourite, friend and servant of God without getting to know God personally. It’s impossible to get to know God without fellowship with Him. Fellowship, in turn, is impossible until you learn to hear God. That’s why the Bible says we are called to have fellowship with Him. We need to learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, so that we can have fellowship with God.
«that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.». (1st John 1:3).
By hearing God’s voice we get to know God deeper, thus becoming His friends.
«God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord». (1st Corinthians 1:9).
We all are called to have fellowship with the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. Are you asking yourself the question: “What is my calling?” You need to understand, that fellowship with God is your first and foremost calling. It’s very important to understand, that you should seek the voice of the Holy Spirit not only when you need God to solve your problem or to help you make the right choice. The first reason to seek the voice of the Holy Spirit is so that you can get to know God and learn to fellowship with Him. God will speak to us, because He desires to have fellowship with us. Having learned to hear His voice we enjoy full-fledged fellowship with Him. First of all, God saved us for the purpose of having fellowship with Him. So we have to understand that the first reason why we have must learn hearing God’s voice is to have healthy fellowship with God, because that’s what God has created us for. We can hardly understand God if we can’t hear His voice. Without understanding Him we won’t be able to love and worship Him in the proper way either. When two people are in love with each other, they enjoy sharing their thoughts, experience, joy and sorrows with each other. They open their hearts before each other to share their deepest secrets. The Bible says God also have some secrets He wants to share with His children.
« The friendship of Yahweh is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant». (Psalms 25:14).

« Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets». (Amos 3:7).
God desires to become your Friend. God desires to reveal His secrets to you, so through them you can experience breakthrough and exaltation in your life. My challenge for you today is to delight in becoming a friend of God, begin to seek His face, get to know His word and have fellowship with Him! God bless you abundantly!  Rufus Ajiboye, pastor

  • Praying is pouring out your heart before God

When I pray I pour out my soul before God. I will not dwell on it for long, because we mostly know how to do it. We know how to open our hearts. As soon as we find a listening ear and as soon as we find a person we can trust, we open our hearts. We know that God is always ready to hear us out. Besides, God is totally trustworthy. It means that you can boldly come before God with everything that concerns us. That is what we call prayer. And that is why Paul says that we shouldn’t think and worry too much, but always reveal our desires before God in prayer and then His peace will fill our hearts.

  • The generosity and hospitality that opens doors for God’s intervention

“The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “If I have found favour in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way – now that you have come to your servant.” “Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.” “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There in the tent,” he said. Then the Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.”
