Do not bury your miracle!

Greetings to you on the new page of «Daily Word for Spiritual Edification».Today I want to encourage you not to burry your dream, even when everything around you tells you that it won’t ever come true. There is such a thing as the power of resurrection. That is the word I want to bring to you.We started to talk about a woman whose hospitality and generosity brought a miracle into her life, and as a result she gave birth to a son.
«And the child grew. Now it happened once day that he went out to his father, to the reapers, and he said to his father, “My head, my head!” So he said to a servant, „Carry him to his mother.” When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat n her knees till noon, and then died. And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out. Then she called to her husband, and said, „Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back.” So he said, „Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.” And she said, „It is well.” Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, „Drive, and go forward; do not slacken the pace for me unless I tell you.” And so she departed, and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel. So it was, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to his servant Gehazi, „Look, the Shunammite woman! Please run now to meet her, and say to her, „Is it well with the child?” And she answered, „It is well”. (2 Kings, 4:18-26).
This is a very curious passage of the Scripture, which describes the woman’s behaviour. The miracle she had received from the Lord had died. When a person dies, he is usually buried. But here we see that this woman made a firm decision not to burry her miracle from God. After her son died she put him on the bed of the man of God and went to see Elisha. Death of a child is the worst news for a mother. Today we are surrounded by multitude of bad news that hinders people from focusing their attention on the good news that are also around us.This woman decided not to pay attention to the bad news. This is what God wants to teach you today – for you to focus on the good news and not the bad ones that the world is full of. This woman did not bury her son because she knew about the power of resurrection. She went to the man of God and when she arrived there she did not say one negative word. She said to her husband that all was well; she said to the man of God that all was well, even though her son had died. What does it tell us? It tells us that she was absolutely sure her child will be alright as soon as she meets the man of God, and that is why she refused to bury her son.Abraham had acted in a similar way. When God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac he told his servants that they would go to worship the Lord and then they will both come back (Genesis, 22: 5). Regardless of the fact that God told him to sacrifice his son, Abraham was convinced that he would come back to his servants and that Isaac would be there with him. Why? Because Abraham knew for sure that the miracle God had given him – his son of promise – could be raised up again by God.  That is how it happened, and he received his son back again.
«By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, “In Isaac our seed shall be called,” concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense» (Hebrews, 11:17-19).
Today God is saying to us that we should not give up easily and should not bury our miracles because God has the power of resurrection. Even if it seems to you that your dream has died, do not give up, stay in faith and hold on to the power of God which is able to resurrect you miracle. Do not bury your miracle!May God bless you today! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • What is compassion?

We must understand that Jesus’ disciples were not perfect; quite the opposite, they are ordinary people with „character issues”. Jesus did not wait until they become perfect, but sent them out to serve people. He did not have anybody else to send; so He worked with what He had. And He is calling us to do the same today; it applies to every one who considers himself to be His disciple. Jesus desires for God’s children to be filled with compassion and to help people allowing God to touch all the people around them with His love.If we see someone perishing physically because of some illness, we do everything to save him. We often do not realize that unsaved people are spiritually ill, that they are perishing and need salvation. We must do everything in our power to save them. So our hearts need to go out to them with love and compassion.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others!

Ministry is a widespread concept among believers. In essence, ministry is giving of all things: giving of one’s talents and gifts, one’s knowledge and time, one’s heart and resources. The Kingdom of God is built through such giving. Your church is built by your giving and ministry. It says in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God blesses those who serve, so if you want to get to the top of God’s blessedness learn to serve God and people.
  • Worship the Lord

God wants us to talk to Him the way we talk to our father. Jesus said in His prayer: “… blessed be Thy Name!” The word “bless” means He worshipped the God Father in reverence to Him. Worship prepares our soul to meet the God. It also involves our spirit. Just like in order to listen to a broadcast on the radio you need to tune it up first, worship helps us to turn our spirit on and tune it up on the God´s wave. Jesus taught:«You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve»
  • Any change in our life is done by the Holy Spirit, who transforms us and moves us from glory to glory

Are you able to accomplish something only the Holy Spirit can do? Surely not! However, by constantly watching the glory of the Lord with open face the Holy Spirit can transform us into the same image, from glory to glory.I noticed there is a problem with persistence in our fellowship with God not with coming before Him. You probably experience the time when inspiration visits you and you are willing to get closer to God and have fellowship with Him. While those moments come rather rarely or very rarely they do not change anything in essence. We all need persistence! During fellowship with God Holy Spirit will work at your heart, at your character, at your relationships, at your way of thinking that, in turn, will transform you.
  • Life is short

All things we have mentioned so far are connected together. Life is time, life is a goal, life is a test, life is trust, and now life is short. This world as we know it now is not your home. God has a New Heaven and a new earth. The kingdom and the system of this world will be overthrown so that it becomes the Kingdom of our God and His Christ. Your life itself is regarded as a vapour that appears for a little time.
