Do You Hear What God Speaks? IV

I am glad to greet you in our column „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”! I thank the Lord for the chance to share with you the revelations that God gives me. God wants His people to get to know His Word – the truth that sets a person free from any lies and sin. The Bible says that Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance. God’s life is concealed in His Word. In order that we have this life in abundance, it is necessary that we love His Word and learn to listen to His voice and be lead by it.Let us look at an example in Paul’s life.
“Much time had been lost, and sailing had already become dangerous because by now it was after the Fast. So Paul warned them, “Men, I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our own lives also.” But the centurion, instead of listening to what Paul said, followed the advice of the pilot and of the owner of the ship.” (Acts 27: 9-11).
Through Paul, God said that the journey would be dangerous and difficult, but the centurion trusted more the standpoint and prognosis of experts – pilot and owner of the ship, because the equipment indicated to good weather and not what Paul was saying. As soon they started their journey, a strong wind broke out. The equipment could not warn about the wind. This is like the meteorologists announce some kind of weather, but we see something totally different. Experts can make mistakes!! Therefore we need to train our spirit to hear what only GOD says.Choose yourself what voice you are going to believe? Jesus says, if you are His sheep you have a chance and abilities to hear God’s voice, especially when not everything in your life happens the way you want. God wants to speak to you and guide you in these situations. The Bible says,
“Be still, and know that I am God, …” (Psalms 46:10).
In order to hear God’s voice, it is necessary that you learn to stop and calm down – calm down your mind, feelings, emotions, and only then you can hear what God says to you. When you learn to hear God’s voice, not only will you have eternal life, but also life in abundance, which is concealed in you. There will be problems, but you will be able to rejoice, because you will be sure that your God has an answer for any question, your God is able to solve any problem. Human mind tries to calculate everything – how are all things going, how everything must happen. Our minds work like fast processors. But the problem is that situations appear in our lives, and we cannot solve them. What happens to our mind-processor then? It falls out. Bible teaches us,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5).
At schools and universities, we are taught to trust our own minds only. It is not bad, but God has given us minds with a purpose, but not for us to think our mind is equal with God’s mind. We have been taught to trust our minds so well that it is hard for us to reorder and start trusting and putting our hopes in the Lord. They who have always trusted their minds have difficulties to switch over and trust God. But God says,
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6).
God promises that He will guide us. But it is important to understand that God guides and leads you not where you want, and sometimes it will not be an easy and comfortable way. God will lead you in His ways, because He does it with a purpose to take you where you need to be! Trust the Lord in this because He knows the ending already at the very beginning. We will continue this topic tomorrow!May God guard you today!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

It´s also important to know that Jesus knows everything, He possesses all hidden information, necessary for our mission. That´s why obedience to the Lord who knows everything is vitally important! When Jesus had a need for a donkey to ride upon to Jerusalem, He knew where to find the animal. He knew where to go and find that donkey. He knew how to bring that donkey to Him.
  • The importance of unity II

I thank God for this day and believe that this day will be filled with the blessings from the Lord. Today I’d like to continue on the topic I talked about yesterday – the importance of unity. We saw that when you have a strong team every house will be built and every project will be completed. That kind of team will always achieve victory. In the Bible we see that Jesus also talked about the importance of unity.
  • We are the salt of the earth and light of the world

We continue talking about our role and function as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve talked about the Bible calling us Christ’s ambassadors; God has sent us to encourage people to be reconciled with God. The Bible also calls us the salt of the earth and the light to the world. But if we as Christ’s ambassadors on earth do not actively practise our faith, then our society will deteriorate. Today, if we look at successful and prosperous countries, we can see the reason of their success and prosperity is because the people there embrace and practice Christian values. Only righteousness exalts a nation – Thai is a law, – God’s law. Only righteousness makes a nation prosperous! Injustice and sin destroy a nation.
  • Poverty and failure have roots and laziness is an obvious one

One of the reasons for spiritual coldness and lukewarmness is negligence and laziness. Marital failure, financial poverty, failure in ministry and many other forms of poverty can all be traced back to the same root of negligence or dealing with a slack hand.“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Proverbs 10:4)
  • Purpose for living V

After Solomon forsook God for a season, he tried to find happiness and satisfaction in different things and activities. We see that Solomon made several attempts which all lead to disappointment. For a wise person Solomon’s experience can become good lesson in what the wrong ways to happiness are. We mentioned that Solomon sought happiness in education and knowledge, in fun and pleasures, in beauty, in works of men’s hands. Afterwards he came to a conclusion that despite the fact that all these things are important and necessary for living, none of them can make us happy, if God is excluded from our life. Solomon said that everything under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind. Solomon’s conclusion was that everything that happens under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind – if apart from God.
