Grateful people – they are people able for self-sacrifice! II

I am glad to greet you again in our column „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”!We are continuing speaking about the fact that every person who loves God is a person able for self-sacrifice.Yesterday we were speaking about Abraham, who loved God not only in his words but also in his works. As a sign of his gratitude, Abraham built altars and offered sacrifices for God.Let us look at another time when Abraham built and altar for the Lord:
“The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.”(Genesis 13:14-18).
We see that building an altar was the correct response of Abraham towards God’s grace. If we learn to appreciate and cherish everything that God does in our lives, then it will be natural for us to sacrifice or build and altar for God.Know that when speaking about sacrifice, God will never ever ask you for something that you do not have! His love does not require that, God’s love is not abusive. If you truly love someone, you will never ask from them what they do not have.Forget about what you do not have, think about what you do have. Be sure that you own a lot!As a church we can be more useful and influential than we are today. We can do more, give more; we can have more. People must rise, people-worshippers who will love God and who will not hold back their abilities, wisdom, experience, time and finances in order to build the Kingdom of God. Worshippers are easy to be directed. Worship is not just singing songs. Worship costs something! And they who pay this price, are the true worshippers of God.Do not deceive yourself; if you seriously want to follow God, then build your altar and bring all of your favourite sine upon it: pride, selfishness, ambitions, lust of flesh, and lust of eyes. Bring upon it your time, your gifts, abilities, knowledge, talents, experience, etc. Thus you can become a powerful instrument in the hands of God to expand His Kingdom and spread His perfect aroma. Understand that if you are able to sacrifice to God, then reward from Him will be much larger that that what you can give to Him.Do you love the Lord more than anything in your life? Begin to prove it with your way of life and self-sacrifice!May God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

Peace and grace from the Lord may be multiplied in your life this day! We are still talking about the search for the meaning of life and happiness under heaven. Solomon showed us what path we should not take when we talk about the search of the meaning of life, happiness and satisfaction. When we take this wrong path, we will be disappointed and frustrated and it will lead us to total failure.
  • Your attitude influences your progress

The judgements, the beliefs, and the convictions of a person influence his attitude and this attitude has an effect on the progress we make. The man in the parable did not multiply his talent because he had the wrong attitude. This man believed lies rather than the truth. That is the lies which many people believe, which become an obstacle to their progress and development. The lies can go something like, “no one loves me”, then any attempt from people to show love towards you, will be rejected. A person believing in lies from the enemy will not be able to accept blessings, help, and advice from others, as all this would be misinterpreted.
  • Dedication precedes provision II

To call upon God – it means to have a stable prayer life. God desires you to have consistent and stable prayer life. You have to have a place where you call upon Him.«But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly» (Mathew, 6:6).

«Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you, the Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising» (Isaiah, 60:1-3).
  • The example of accountability in the life of apostle Paul II

Leaving for his mission Paul didn´t make himself unaccountable just because he had already been anointed and free. At that moment Paul had become a mature minister established many churches. Nevertheless, he was still an accountable person. He returned to the church at Antioch, to the place he had been sent from, to meet those whom God had been made an authority over Paul. Moreover, Paul also held an account before the apostles in Jerusalem regarding the way his ministry was going.«Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me. I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain». (Galatians 2:1-2).
  • How are you running the race set before you by God?

There is a race set before every one of us to run. Many people call it the will of God or God’s assignment for you. No matter what you call it, it is important to understand that we are not just here to live an aimless life. Your life has a purpose. One reason we are given time is to discover God’s purpose for your life and pursue that purpose making use of every opportunity and resources given to you by God.
