What are you doing with your promotion?

Peace and grace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! By God’s mercy and love today we have been given another day.We have been talking about how to earn God’s promotion. God wants to promote us; we just need to keep our hearts humble and follow His principles.
«Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life» (1 Timothy, 6:17-19).
Promotion is connected to the issue of wealth, and we are not talking just about money. Riches are more than money. Health, joy, good relationships, peace, rest, and love – those too are riches. Many people have lots of money, but they lack true riches. God tells us today not to be haughty and not trust in material things; we need to trust God alone. We should be generous and sociable. When problems come, God is the only One Who can help us. Trust God and do good works. By doing this, you will draw God’s attention and earn God’s promotion. But you and I need to understand this truth: when God exalts a person, He does not do it for him, but for other people whose needs he will be able to meet. We do not only live for ourselves. If after promotion you forget about the needs of others, then you do not deserve to keep that promotion. When God chose Abram, He said that He will exalt Abram so that he would become a blessing for a multitude of people. It is very important what our attitude is towards the needs of those that are around us.
«And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren» (Luke, 22:31-32).
This verse tells us that God gave peter an assignment to strengthen his brethren. By promoting Peter, God meant to help others around him. When God promotes you, you should pay attention to the people around you. People are praying for their needs to be met, and God answers them through those He has promoted and exalted. What are you doing with your promotion? If your promotion does not help others to solve their problems and meet their needs, then this promotion will most likely go back to God.Promotion from the Lord envelopes so many blessings that they are enough fro you and also for great many people God sends your way. Be a wise steward of God’s blessings in the season of your promotion. Always remember that promotion is not only for you, but is for others also whom God desires to bless through you and your promotion.May God abundantly bless you this day!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Jesus transforms those that follow Him II

In order for me to change I need to follow Jesus. It means I need to follow and submit to His Word and His instructions. It means to spend time with Him to learn His heart and to participate in His mission. To follow Christ also means to imitate Him in all things. It means to react like He reacts, to speak like He speaks, to love what He loves and to hate what He hates.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! III

Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.It says in the Bible that Jesus came to this earth to serve and not to be served. He is the example of a minister. Many of us want others to serve us. God says that we should minister and serve others. He wants us to be like Jesus.
  • Hope of salvation

«But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.».We have already talked a lot about the role of faith and walking in love last time. Today we begin to discuss the role of hope of salvation. We need faith today. By faith we possess peace today, regardless of what is happening around us. By faith we enter God´s rest even nowadays.
  • We have to strengthen our spirit

The Bible states «A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?» (Proverbs 18:14). Satan wants to hit our spirit via hardships, trials and problems. When your spirit is strengthened, you can overcome any kind of weakness, get through all kind of hardships and trials. So how can we strengthen our spirit? God´s word and His promises strengthen our spirit and overcome weakness and sufferings. In order to not give up, we need to learn how to lean on the word of God and His promises – fully and unconditionally. We have to learn God´s faithfulness and realise that God will never forsake us unless we abandon Him ourselves.
  • We must walk not only before God, but also before people God has set as overseers in our lives

I must note that ‘accountability group’ (small group, home group) is not the place where you only share your problems or weaknesses. Of course, accountability implies all of it. But if we only do that, then there is no time for instruction or feed-back, and then this group can turn into a place of gossip and slandering.Accountability group or Christian fellowship is the place of learning where we all strive to be more like Jesus. We do it through questions and answers, Bible study, prayer; we listen to each other and support each other.
  • Precondition for effective prayer is prayer in practice

Prayer must be practiced daily. We will not be able to become masters and professionals in what we do not practice every day. If we do not practice prayer, we will not know how to pray properly. Again I would like to emphasize one truth we spoke of last time. In the life for each of us, once the time comes when most of all we need prayer. But if we do not practice prayer daily, we will not be able to ask and receive the necessary assistance from God at that particular time. May this not happen with us.Prayer changes us and the things that are around us, it changes our world. Everyone can find that a prayer is power, it is a privilege for a believer from God Himself.
