Organization of effective prayer life IV

I am glad to welcome you to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I am grateful to God for this opportunity to share with you the revelations that God has given me. God’s life is revealed through His Word and through the fellowship with Him.

We are still talking about what effective prayer is. We have established that prayer is spiritual work. Besides, if we want to pray effectively we must intentionally set apart some time to draw near to God and to fellowship with Him in prayer. We must learn to put aside all the other things and cares when we go to commune with God. Without it the life of a believer will be weak and full of confusion. God has many important and interesting things that He wants to reveal to us during the prayerful fellowship with Him. Let’s discuss the question of what effective prayer includes.

  1. Prayer is meaningful time with God.

I will explain what I mean by that. Quite often I use the word ‘time’. Prayer is one of the means of organizing and managing the time we have been given. What is the topic of our prayers is a very interesting question. We all talk about it. There are so many books written on prayer. But who is the person who prays truly effectively? This is a very serious question. God desires us to arrange our lives for effective prayer; it will take our ministry and our whole life to a much higher level.

I honestly believe that everything we do without prayer is seen by God as routine works of flesh. Let’s assume that I have gone to preach and witness to people; it is an activity and it is good. But if I have not immersed it in prayer, if I have not prayed before going out and do not pray afterwards, then it is just a work of flesh. Only God can save people. God alone is able to do it! God alone can change a human heart! It happens not because I speak some touching words or say emotional things trying to manipulate with people, – all these things do not work, nor say save or change people. Saving and changing of human lives is something only God can do. If God is the only one that can do it, I must work with Him. I must do it with prayer. That is why prayer is so important.

What does it mean ‘to have meaningful time with God’? Prayer cannot be effective if you are in a hurry. Hasty prayers are not prayers at all. Prayer and haste do not go together. Of course, there are exceptions, but as a rule praying cannot be done in a hurry. There are situation when we really do not have time for lengthy prayers. Every once in a while we have crisis, when we are not able to say anything else besides “Jesus, help me!”, “Jesus, bless me!” and you go ahead because you really do not have any time or opportunity for long praying. And God hears these short prayers, – He hears the cry of our souls. But effective prayer life cannot be built on these short prayers. It is not enough to say to God in the morning: “Thank you, Jesus, that I have woken up this morning. Bless this day!” and say to Him in the evening: «Praise God for this day! Goodnight, Jesus!” and that’s it.

Is this a picture of your prayer life? „Bless my husband. Bless my wife. Bless my children. Bless… bless… thank you!”, and that’s it??? Do you have 5-minute prayers or even less? That is not praying. Prayer means spending some meaningful time with God. It is not so much what you tell God; it is what God wants to tell you and what He wants to do in your life.

May God help you to grasp this truth. Allow God to enrich your life through His wisdom, His power, His guidance. For it to happen, you need to spend time with Him and allow Him to speak to your heart and into your situations.

God bless you!

  • So a disciplined person is able to subject or control himself

A disciplined person is always in submission to certain set of rules and order. If you do not have any rules or regulations, if you avoid the word ‘order’, in your life, then you are undisciplined, and you won’t be able to experience any spiritual progress or growth.Spiritual growth which is related to positive changes in a person’s life is not a heritage meant for undisciplined people. If a person lacks discipline, he will always break and ignore rules and regulations. It does not matter how many sets of rules and regulations he impose on himself for noble purposes, an undisciplined man will break them all as soon as he made them.
  • Only those who seek will find

You will find out what is there in you if you get diligent about seeking it out. Only those who seek will find. For example, many people only see problems. Don’t look for problems and don’t talk about them; focus on the solutions. Train your heart and your mind to find answers and solutions for different problems. As soon as you see a problem, start thinking about possible solutions for it. Start meditating on possible ways to solve it, and God will give multiple ideas for serving people.

We do not love God as much as we used to in the past.We are more concerned about the things of this world than of those related to eternity. We prefer watching TV or reading secular books and magazines instead of reading the Bible or praying. We are hardly willing to pray or don´t want to do it at all.We rather make money than give it away.
  • The lordship of Jesus Christ II

«The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies» (Psalm 110:1-2).This passage talks about Christ: «Rule in the midst of Your enemies», but the Body of Christ — His Church — is included in this prophetic word. Jesus was told to sit at the right hand of God; but it would be God’s children that would overcome God’s enemies and every thing that rise against the will of God. God wants us to rule and reign in the midst of the enemies and unfavourable circumstances. We must rule because we have been given God’s authority and we were born conquerors.
  • Purpose for living V

After Solomon forsook God for a season, he tried to find happiness and satisfaction in different things and activities. We see that Solomon made several attempts which all lead to disappointment. For a wise person Solomon’s experience can become good lesson in what the wrong ways to happiness are. We mentioned that Solomon sought happiness in education and knowledge, in fun and pleasures, in beauty, in works of men’s hands. Afterwards he came to a conclusion that despite the fact that all these things are important and necessary for living, none of them can make us happy, if God is excluded from our life. Solomon said that everything under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind. Solomon’s conclusion was that everything that happens under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind – if apart from God.
  • Do not focus of what you do not have; simply go ahead and use what you have! II

God gives to us gifts according to our ability, so He does not call us to do the thigs we are not able to. If God has asked you to do something, it is only because He knows you are able to do it. He won’t give you more than you are able to bear. Simply use what you have.I once read a story about a woman who built a school for the needy. Before she began this, a desire was born in her heart to do it. It became her dream that she was thinking of consistently. At that moment she did not have a thing: no textbooks, no teachers, no building, and no money. But she did have a tremendous desire to fulfil her dream.
