The Kingdom of God III

Dear friends, I greet you with the new message of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I am happy that today we have another opportunity to turn to the Word of God. The Word says that in Christ we are victors and we are called to continue the mission He started 2000 years ago. When He came to the earth He preached that people need to repent before God and believe the Gospel because the Kingdom has drawn nigh.Jesus brought God’s Kingdom to this earth and He wants us to be involved in the process of expanding His Kingdom here, on the earth. God wants His Kingdom to triumph over the earth. And there is no need to discuss whether it is going to happen or not, – this matter is already resolved; it will surely happen. What you need to decide is whether this spreading out will happen with your involvement or without it.I am sure that every believer that sincerely loves God desires to be part of this process, desires to have the Kingdom of God not only within him, but also to spread it all around. As I said before, we won’t be able to expand God’s Kingdom if we do not take the position of overcomers in Christ, because the expansion of this Kingdom requires a fight and putting forth a lot of effort. Also as I said before, this effort is not used against people, but against powers of spiritual darkness. Our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual.
«Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, „Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death»(Revelation, 12:10-11).
John – the disciple of Christ – saw in the spirit the end time saints that have become overcomers. There was nothing that could stop them. Illness, poverty, feelings of insecurity, fear, rejection, failure – nothing can hinder or stop an overcomer.Satan – an accuser and our worst enemy – will do anything he can to stop the children of God. But if we as the end time believers take up the weapons that we have in Christ, we will overcome every obstacle and win the victory over every intention and work of Satan and we will continue to expand the Kingdom of God. Satan won’t be able to stop us.There are certain methods or means we can use to overcome the obstacles and challenges Satan – the enemy of our souls – may place on our way.Based on the passage of Scripture we read, it can be concluded that:1) Saints overcame Satan by the blood of the Lamb;2) They overcame Satan by the word of their testimony;3) Saints overcame Satan by not loving their lives even unto death – through their devotion to the cause of Christ. These people love Christ so much that they are ready to give even their lives to advance the work of Christ and expand His Kingdom. How can we arm ourselves by all these types of weapons? Through the blood of Jesus we gained free access to God’s presence. The Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses our consciousness and makes us sensitive to the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit. Besides, because of the blood of Jesus Christ we can overcome feelings of guilt and condemnation that Satan often uses against us to steal our confidence before God.It is very important to have a right position before God – the position of righteousness by the blood of Jesus Christ, because this blood cleanses us from all our sins. Also it is very important to declare what Christ has done in our lives. It is important to proclaim all the promises of God for us that have been given to us in Christ because of His work on the Cross. It is so important that our words agree with what God says about us in His Word. We must learn to see ourselves through the prism of God Himself, instead of looking at ourselves through the eyes of people or, even worse, through the eyes of Satan. Only by having God’s perspective can we can walk in Lord’s victory. Our devotion to God and His work is essential. We must see ourselves as dead in Christ – dead to sin, to praises of men or glory of men. When we die to ourselves we are then able to boldly go forward and do the will of God.«And they overcame… and they did not love their lives to the death ».A dead person has nothing to lose; that is why he is courageous in fights. My desire for you is that these three simple methods of walking in God’s victory will become our everyday routine.Till tomorrow!God’s peace to you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Why we can’t grow spiritually if we do not serve others?

Here is one of the reasons why we can’t grow spiritually if we do not serve others. If we do not serve we become like those who only receive and not give out. Sooner or later such a person starts to stink spiritually. Look at any body of water that water flows into but doesn’t flow out of. After some time this water becomes stagnant and lifeless.
  • All true ministry begins in the presence of God III

As we draw closer to God, we will be able to see our self in the light of God. Many people look at themselves from the standpoint of what other people are saying or what they are thinking about themselves. The fact is that only God knows the true states of your heart. As you stand in the presence of God He will help you to see yourself correctly. Not only will you see yourself from God’s perspective, but you will be transformed into His very image.
  • Value God’s Word! III

For several days now we have been talking about the role of God’s Word in our lives. We talked about the Word of God being our life and about the fact that our right attitude towards it can prolong our days. Also we learned that our attitude towards God’s Words determines how strong the foundation of our lives will be and how able we are to withstand the troubles of this life. Today I would like to look at another facet that demonstrates the significance of God’s Word for us.
  • How to effectively study the Bible II

Sometimes one word in the Bible can be followed as a thread throughout all of the pages of the Book.I once sat down to write a letter to a brother. I prayed and asked God to help me write not just words, but to make it a blessing for this person. As I was writing, I noticed that I had started preaching in the letter. Later I put it aside, because one word had totally consumed my attention. I began to study this word in the Bible. I began studying the phrases like “God is able” and „God can”. I started reading all the verses that contained these phrases. It was so interesting that I totally forgot about the letter. The study of particular Bible words can be very interesting and profitable.
  • The law of sowing and reaping

«Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows in his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life» (Galatians, 6:7-8).«For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live»(Romans, 8: 13)
  • You have been created, redeemed and restored! You were born twice!

We are not only created by God, we are also reworked or recreated by Jesus Christ. We are talking about the opportunity available to sinful people because Christ has come into this world. This is exactly what the letter to Ephesians says:«You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.» (Ephesians 2:1-10).
