We must prepare the way so that the Lord could come in glory and fullness! III

Dear children of God, once again I welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!We have established that God only comes when we have prepared the way for Him. We can do that by ministering to Him and fulfilling His calling in our lives. We pointed out that we have to use all possible means to preach the Gospel of Kingdom in this world, because that is the necessary prerequisite for the Coming of the Lord in glory and power. Let’s look at one more verse from the Scripture that talk about preparing the way of the Lord.
«Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts» (Malachi, 3:1).
God desire to come; He wants to touch His people – to save, deliver and heal His children. But unless we are prepared for His visitation, He won’t come. It is our readiness that precedes God’s readiness to come. Christ will come to those who seek Him and expect Him that is to those who have prepared the way of the Lord.
«…so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation» (Hebrews, 9:28).
When we are ready, God will come as He has promised and He won’t delay. Let’s prepare the way for Him! In order for us to do that, we have to pay a price, and we mustn’t fear. Let’s pay the price, otherwise all of our activities are just a game of ‘playing church’.How can we prepare the way of the Lord? What is the price we should pay for it?

1.       The price includes being alone with God.

Let’s build an altar for God – a place of daily communion with God. The following verse calls us to it.
«Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice» (Psalm, 50:5)
 (see also Exodus, 20:24-26; Genesis, 8:20; 1 Kings, 18:30).

2.       The price includes personal holiness and purity.

The Bible talks about the pure of heart that will see God. And God calls us to purify ourselves from the filth of flesh and spirit so that we could prepare the way of the Lord.
«Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God» (Mathew, 5:8).
(see also Exodus, 19:10-11, 15; 2 Corinthians, 7:1).

3.       The price includes humble living.

It says in the Bible that God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud. Pride is the spirit of Antichrist, and humility is the spirit of Christ. God abides with the humble. Humility before God is the key to healing and revival.
«Thus says the LORD: „Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, and ll those things exist,” says the LORD. „But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.”» (Isaiah, 66:1-2). (see also Psalm, 138:6; 2 Chronicles, 7:14).

4.       The price includes great faith and expectation of God’s glory.

God won’t come where there is no expectation. You need faith to please God.
«But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him» (Hebrews, 11:6).
Faith is confidence in the unseen and expectations of promises. We must expect the fulfilment of the promise of His coming. We must expect the appearance of His glory.
«Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side» (Isaiah, 60:4).
We must expect the fulfilment of God’s promise that the earth will be filled with God’s glory. And this expectation should motivate us for action and work. We must ‘work out’ our expectation.God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Jesus was constantly seeking the God´s will for His life

Reading the Bible we see how Jesus was growing and being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. Jesus was constantly seeking the God´s will for His life, in order to set a good example for us. If Jesus had got to know God´s will using His divine nature instead, He wouldn´t have set a role model to us nor we wouldn´t be able to follow his steps today. Jesus stayed longer in the Temple after the feast of Passover in Jerusalem while other people had already left for home (see Luke 2:41-51). What was Jesus doing there and why did He stay longer in the Temple? He stayed there to listen to the scribes and to question them. That´s one of His secrets where His wisdom came from. Jesus studied the Scriptures. He attended the Temple and asked questions, prayed and leaned closer to God, His Father.
  • Changes through Ministry III

Ministry helps us to live for others not just for ourselves. When a person has a servant or serving heart, his life is focused on making other people happy instead of waiting on the other people to make him happy. Somebody with such an attitude and life position has no time for depression or for self-pity. His life is rather focused on searching for and helping other people who lives in poorer conditions himself instead of sitting around celebrating self- pity party. The person who understands the purpose of true ministry doesn’t live for himself, but his goal is to love God and to love other people.
  • The true Christian life is a call to manifest God in our lives

«Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marvelled» (Acts, 4:13).The first disciples of Jesus had spent time with Jesus and that reflected in their attitude to life,- they manifested God’s character through their lives. They were brave and bold for God; they boldly spoke of God, and testify of Him because they had spent time in the Father’s bosom.
  • The Christian as an ambassador II

After Jesus left the earth and ascended to heaven, He commissioned us to be His ambassadors or the sent ones (His representatives) on the earth. So we must understand and receive a profound revelation concerning the spiritual authority and power that we have in Christ. The Bible says that Christ made us kings and priests in order that we can reign on earth for Him. It is God, our heavenly Father desires that we all to be busy about His business. His business is to reconcile people with Him. God desires to do the work of reconciliation through us – «we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God». He wants us to declare the word of reconciliation. « God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation » (2 Corinthians, 5:19).
  • Qualities that make us the salt of the earth and light of the world

    1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mathew, 5:3). This talks about dependency on God. Our lives depend on God. And since we realize our dependency, we must continually come to God and spend time with Him. This is a foundational step in becoming the salt of the earth and the light of the world; we must live a life that is totally depended on God!2) Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Mathew, 5:4). Sin, unrighteousness and injustice that surround us must motivate us to pray and mourn before God, to stand in the gap for our land. It must motivate us to repent of the sins and unrighteousness of our nation. When we look at the things around us with God’s eyes, then everything that grieves God will grieve us as well. This is where passion is born and a vision for change is conceived.
  • The seed contains tremendous potential

Our attitude towards God’s Word is very important. God sends His Word into our lives so that His Word would bring to us that which we need. In order for the seed of God’s Word to grow in our hearts, the condition of our hearts is particularly important. «For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing which I sent it.» (Isaiah 55:10-11).
