Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil! III

Greetings to you, precious children of God, on the pages of “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I hope that the topic of the lordship of Jesus Christ will help you realize how important it is to walk in total submission to the Lord Jesus in all areas of our lives. Today, we will finish talking about it.

Let’s once again look at the passage of Scripture from the book of Prophet Zechariah.

«Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, „The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, „Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, „See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” And I said, „Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by. Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, „Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here»(Zechariah, 3:1-7).

We saw that every time we come before God, Satan also comes to oppose us with his accusations, since he is the accuser of the brethren. We also saw that Jesus Christ stands before God to justify us, when we walk in the light and confess our sins. The Scripture from Zechariah shows that when we confess our sins before God, repent of them and receive our cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ, that is the moment when our filthy garments are removed from us and God clothes us in the garments for celebration.

Besides, when we put on the garments of righteousness through repentance and walking in the light, we also obtain access to the special authority of God.

God tells us:

“Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here” (Zechariah, 3:1-7).

If we walk in the ways of the Lord and guard our ways, then God will give us authority to rule, command and walk among angels. If we walk in the ways of God and receive the lordship of Jesus Christ, we will be able to effectively hinder the work of the devil in our lives and in the lives of the people around us.

Satan will never be able to dispute the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord. But if we are unclean before the Lord, then the devil can dispute the reality of this truth in our lives and oppose us.

In closing, I want to say that you need to submit yourself to God in all areas of your life, and it begins with repentance. If you have not repented yet and have not passed the reins of your life to Jesus Christ, then I plead with you to do it right now, without any hesitation. Allow Jesus to become the Lord of your life. If you are still fighting the will of God in some area of your life, give up and ask Him to forgive you; let Jesus lead you and have full authority. And then His authority and rule will work through you so that all works of the devil will be destroyed in your life and in the lives of the people around you.

May God bless you abundantly!

When we continually pray and worship God, then our main desire is doing the will of God. Many prayers remain unanswered by God, because these prayers have a wrong foundation and demonstrate wrong priorities. For example, you may pray for a person with some serious problems. And you ask God to remove his or her problems or to solve them. At the same time you know that even if the answer to this prayer comes, the problems might return, since the cause of them has not been removed. That is why when Paul prayed he always asked for the people to learn the will of God and have a desire to do His will and be fruitful.

  • How can our relationships with other people help us change?

All people need change; we help each other through relationships that we are involved. God alone does not need to change; all the people, on the other side, desperately need to change. We need each other and we help each other to change. If we do not understand it and lose sight of it, then it will be hard for us to build any relationships.

  • How to enter your ministry

Yesterday we started discussing how we can enter our ministry. We established that, first; we need a strong desire to serve. This desire is tied to our understanding of God’s will and the purpose of our salvation. As we talked about, ministry helps us to reveal our potential. Ministry helps us to find out about ourselves, our calling in the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth and doing the works that are pleasing to God. God has predestined for us to do particular good works. God desires for us to be fruitful and glorify Him on earth. Through our ministry God wants to fill this earth with the knowledge of Him and His Kingdom. He wants us to establish His principles in every sphere of life and win people for Him by the ministry we do on earth.

  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
