God’s Word is an enormously deep well of revelation, understanding and light

Greetings to you, dear friends! I bless you today! I thank the Lord for giving us His daily word and helping us to move forward.Yesterday we talked about the Word of God being the source of divine information and truth that gives light to people and brings revelation for victorious life. David knew it and said:
«I have seen the consummation of all perfection, but Your commandment is exceedingly broad. Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word. I have not departed from Your judgments, for You Yourself have taught me. How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path» (Psalm, 119:96-105).
God’s Word is an enormously deep well of revelation, understanding and light. We can draw from it wisdom and understanding for every area of human life. When we learn the truth of God’s Word it delivers us and makes us wise unto salvation; it brings delight to our hearts, keeps our feet from evil, and makes us intelligent and knowledgeable.
«The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes» (Psalm, 19:7-8).
Besides the understanding of God’s provision in Christ, every person also needs knowledge of the strategies and plans of the devil. If we do not have this knowledge, then the devil can be successful in hurting us.
«..lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices» (2 Corinthians, 2: 11).
Later we will talk about the fact that Satan is the author of pain, tragedy and suffering. But I want to point out that God has overcome the devil in Christ, and it has been done for you and me. Also, in His Word God has left us information about methods and strategies of the devil. If we pay attention to what the Bible says about his works, we will be able to minimize the possible harm that he might want to do us. The ignorance of the devil’s way of working is one of the reasons why so many people suffer today. Also every person needs knowledge about the purpose and meaning of different things, so that they would not abuse them and do harm to themselves and others. For example, is says in the Bible that our bodies are not meant for fornication, but for the Lord. If you do not know the purpose of your body, then you will tend to abuse it and it will cause pain and suffering to you and others. Later on we will talk about the consequences of sexual immorality, like illness.
«Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body» (1 Corinthians, 6:13)
Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for the food – that is the purpose of stomach and food. The stomach is not to be crammed with things that are not food. In the same way we need to know what the purpose of different parts of our bodies is and what the purpose of the things we use is. The knowledge of the fact that our bodies are meant to be used for serving the Lord, points at our responsibility to take good care of our bodies; not to show them off, but to give glory to God. It challenges people to think about personal hygiene.God’s Word gives answers to the questions about all areas of our life and they are for our good, to give us the fullness of life.
«This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way very prosperous, and then you will have good success» (Joshua, 1:8).
 God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

“The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “If I have found favour in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way – now that you have come to your servant.” “Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.” “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There in the tent,” he said. Then the Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.”
  • I desire mercy and not sacrifice

«As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, „Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. Now it happened as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, „Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard that, He said to them, „Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance» (Mathew, 9:9-13).
  • How can our relationships with other people help us change?

All people need change; we help each other through relationships that we are involved. God alone does not need to change; all the people, on the other side, desperately need to change. We need each other and we help each other to change. If we do not understand it and lose sight of it, then it will be hard for us to build any relationships.
  • Accountability allows us to submerge in Christ

Accountability makes us strong and unites us to the other believers; it also kills the “I am a lone island” thinking. This type of thinking has caused many problems that the Body of Christ still suffers from.God does not want you to be an island that is separated and independent of the other brothers and sisters in Christ. We are not only responsible to being accountable ourselves; we also need to call others to accountability and help them with it.
  • There are three main types of believers: observers, consumers/users and servants! II

The third type of believers is servants. Servants are the ones that are on the giving end. It is more blessed to give than it is to receive. We all like to receive, but if we want to be truly blessed we need to look for opportunities to give.Jesus said that the rivers of living water will flow out of those who believe in Him:«”He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified» (John, 7:38-39 ).
  • But he who endures to the end shall be saved!

The question arises why so many people start their walk with God but turn aside in one of the crossroads of life; they turn back to where they came from. It reminds me the story of Jewish people. For a long time this nation was in slavery in Egypt. They were burdened by hard work with no payment. The nation of Israel cried out to God, and God delivered them and brought them out of Egypt. They had to walk to the Promised Land. Every day they were getting closer to it. There were difficulties on their way; they had to flee some wrong things, avoid making wrong decisions, wrong relationships; they had to overcome grumbling and complaining. Israelites had to obtain more and more knowledge of God while heading towards their Promised Land.
