The Kingdom of God

Greetings to you, dear friends! I thank God for each one of you and I am grateful for the opportunity to speak the Word of God to you through the “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”.Today I want to talk about the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is a very important concept, which is often mentioned in the Bible. When we read the New Testament we see that the message about the Kingdom of God was the central message and mission of Jesus Christ. The very first sermon of Jesus Christ was a message that called people to repent and to believe the Gospel, because the Kingdom of God has come nigh.God’s Kingdom is the fulfilment of God’s will on the earth, just like it is fulfilled in heaven. God’s Kingdom is where God rules; it is the place of domination of God and His laws. God’s desire is that His Kingdom will spread throughout the whole world; but in order to do that it must first be established in the heart of every individual person. The mission of Jesus is the establishment and expansion of God’s Kingdom in this earth, until the kingdom of this world is taken over by the Kingdom of our God. All of the activities of the church of Jesus Christ on the earth must be in close connection with this mission. Establishment and spreading of God’s Kingdom in the earth is the reason why we pray, evangelize, teach and minister.God’s Kingdom has to spread throughout this earth, until it will dominate everything.
«Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, „The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever?” (Revelation, 11:15)
According to this verse, God’s unchanging desire is for the kingdoms of this earth to become the kingdoms of God and His Son. That is what Jesus said in what we know as the Lord’s Prayer; when His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, He told them to pray this way:
„Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Mathew, 6:10).
Only the coming of God’s Kingdom on this earth can solve all spiritual, social, psychological, economic and political problems. The whole earth and all the peoples of the earth need God’s Kingdom to come. The truth is that the kingdoms of this earth will eventually become the kingdom of God and His Christ. God has already announced it as a established fact, but you and I live at the time when the process is still on-going; everything is in progress. Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to the earth, and it is spreading through the kingdoms of the earth.God desires every believer to get involve in this process of growing God’s Kingdom on this earth. Do you want to take part in the process of spreading of Kingdom values in this earth? What will your role be? Will the Kingdom be established with your help or without it? The answers to these questions are very significant.Expansion of the Kingdom of God won’t happen automatically. In order for it to expand, the followers and disciples of Jesus must get involve. If you have made a decision to be the instrument of Kingdom expansion in all the areas of your influence, then you will have to change your approach to life and learn to overcome the hindrances in this life. In order for you to be effective in this area, you must join the team of over-comers in Christ. Establishment of God’s Kingdom will not happen without spiritual fighting, that is why you need to join those who have learned to overcome in Christ. We will continue tomorrow.Be blessed!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

“The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “If I have found favour in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way – now that you have come to your servant.” “Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.” “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There in the tent,” he said. Then the Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.”
  • Love is a weapon of victory of the last time III

The principle of love protects our hearts, emotions and our life from injuries and bruises. Hatred, evil, betrayal, cruelty and lack of understanding among people will multiply at the last days. Jesus never sinned, while people back-bit Him anyway. But, how Jesus reacted to that back-biting? He never replied with back-biting, never tried to overcome evil with evil. He knew it would not work this way, quite opposite it would have increased the amount of evil, pain, emotional injuries and hatred in the life of a person who tries to overcome evil with evil.

«Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows in his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life» (Galatians, 6:7-8).«For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live»(Romans, 8: 13)
  • Preparation of the way of the Lord II

Yesterday we started talking about God’s desire to demonstrate His glory and fullness in our lives; for this to happen we have to prepare our hearts and to prepare the way of the Lord. We have to cleanse our hearts from the things that God hates and cannot look upon. The following verses from the Scripture reveal the principle of preparation the way of the Lord.«In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.’”» (Mathew, 3:1-3).
  • We have to always choose God´s will

Going through the most difficult ordeal in His life, when Jesus heart was internally struggling whether to accept or to reject God´s will, He proved with His own example that we have to always choose God´s will even if it requires us to go through pain and sufferings.«My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.» (Matthew 26:39).« … Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.» (Luke 22:42)
