What are you doing with your talent? III

Greetings to you on this wonderful day that God has made for us! Nobody and nothing can separate us from the love and care of God! Today God presents us with another opportunity to draw wisdom from His Word. His Word is living and powerful! His Word still saves, heals, makes wise and gives direction in this life. God Himself is behind it!

We are talking about the importance of God’s Kingdom and the implementation of our talents for the good of this Kingdom. We have to continually remind ourselves that this world – however attractive – is not our home. Our hearts need to think on things above.

«Set your mind on things above» (Colossians, 3:2).

But you cannot mentally switch and start thinking about the things above, because it is a process. It depends on your lifestyle. So Jesus tells us to invest ourselves and our treasures into the Kingdom of God, because where your treasures are, your heart will be also. If you continuously think on how you can build God’s Kingdom, – investing your finances, time, strength and effort into it, – then your heart will also be there. It is a law: your heart will be where your treasures are.

But if your treasures are not in the Kingdom of God, then you might even be in the church, but your thoughts and your heart will be elsewhere. How can you make sure that your heart is in love with Jesus and His Kingdom? It is done by investing yourself and your treasures into the Kingdom of God.

What are you doing with your talents?

«For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey» (Mathew, 25:14-15).

This passage of Scripture tells us several things. Every one of us has some type of talent, one or more talents. It relates to absolutely everyone, but different people have different attitudes towards their talents.

«Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money» (Mathew, 25:16-18).

This parable demonstrates to us two categories of people that live in this world and in the Kingdom of God. Everyone has a talent; everyone has something he can start with in serving God and investing himself into God’s Kingdom. There are people who are very serious about their talents given to them by God. Also, there are other people who are very neglectful of their talents. One person works hard to multiply his talents, to use them, to develop them in order to bring more fruit for the Lord, but another thinks of different things and has no time for the development and use of his talents for the Kingdom of God, so he buries them.

Which one are you? What are you busy with? Your life depends on it – here, on earth, and in heaven. Find time today to survey your life and see where you are investing your time and your talents. Tomorrow we explore in more detail why this is so important.

Till tomorrow!

God bless you!

All people need change; we help each other through relationships that we are involved. God alone does not need to change; all the people, on the other side, desperately need to change. We need each other and we help each other to change. If we do not understand it and lose sight of it, then it will be hard for us to build any relationships.

  • The Christian as an ambassador II

As we concluded earlier, it’s impossible to please God without understanding our role and purpose on the Earth. We also mentioned that God helps us to reach such understanding through His word. Metaphors used in the Bible help to reveal what God expects from us and how we can please Him.

  • There is nothing impossible with God!

Every one of us has been given free choice. By our lawlessness and sins we can fill our lives and the lives of our loved ones, thus defiling the earth. But through repentance and godly living we can establish the rule of life by God’s grace, affecting not just our life but the whole world. We see that the sin of one man negatively affects not only him or her, but also others. In the same way we see that obedience and righteous living positively affects other people and the whole world.

  • Sacrifice as a measure of love! IV

I want to tell you that singing to God, praising Him, enjoying His presence is not a difficult task at all, if we will only take a moment to reflect or think of His grace. Even when you are having very hard times in life, you can still find something in your life that you can thank God for. Even when you think everything in your life is falling to pieces and your situation is the worst on earth, nevertheless, continue to believe – you simply have not encountered a situation that is worse than yours. But, when you see such a situation, you will find that you live in paradise.

  • What it means to accept personal responsibility

If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)

  • As believers in Christ we should learn to look at ourselves the way God looks at us!

The God´s word says we are pilgrims and aliens, therefore, do your best to see your selves as such.
